Some time ago I was searching for this story too. It was on the yahoo group A Dragon's Lair, but I do not recall the title or the authors name. I believe it was posted as a message only, never as a file in the folders, so there is no way to find it now since the group is closed. Sorry.

Fic is m/m (slash) with fantasy themes. I really don't remember much about the story, just that it involves a bunch of tall 'alien' guys and possibly a human. I think the names had something to do with different gemstones (I might totally be making this up, it's been ages since I read it). I have no idea what happens plot wise, just that there's a lot of chapters and at the end (epilogues?) each chapter was dedicated to one couple (there was like 3 couples I think). The final chapter of the story itself had to do with them living next to each other in a town somewhere. I think they were like 'soldiers' or something before they left and settled down with their mates. I hope someone knows what I'm talking about >_< Please help, this has been killing me for days.
