  1. I'm kicking around an idea for a fic involving a couple of roommate villains. One is gruff and inclined to be cranky, the other's a smartmouth. Normally they don't get along. After being beaten by the heroes (again) they bond over several alcoholic beverages, piss/vomit on the heroes' house, and go home. One thing leads to another and they have sex.

Problem is that they aren't the kind of couple who would snuggle there in the afterglow, nursing each others' hangovers with the power of sex (though Mr. Smartmouth might make a few cracks about doing so). Instead, Mr. Gruff is a bit of a bastard to Mr. Smartmouth, who gets upset.

So what should I do to get Mr. Gruff to move past his own embarrassment (Mr. Smartmouth annoys the heck out of him, a lot) and maybe wind up going for round two? Or is it acceptable to end the story with Mr. Smartmouth feeling angry and confused while Mr. Gruff pretends nothing happened?

  2. About half of my fanfics are non-consensual (I don't mark them as rape because one party is usually under orders to pleasure the other, rather than there being any violence involved) and the one I'm currently writing is teetering on the edge of full-blown rape. I think it doesn't bother me because the characters involved in the non-con fics are in a very particular environment where no-one looks out for anyone else and their leader is a megalomaniac who forged his army through fear - everyone's half-expecting to be raped and sex is about dominating the other person. But as far as I'm concerned in real life anything "non-consensual" is rape.

  3. Transformers don't even have genders.

Uh, yeah they do. See every G1 episode ever. Also the 07 movie.

Edit to clarify: If you mean that the gender differences between Transformers probably aren't there to facilitate procreation, therefore it's unlikely that they have a "default" orientation of heterosexual and it's incorrect to assume that they have similar taboos around homosexuality to ours and that males only turn to males for sexual relief because there are so few females, I agree with you. But they're definitely created either male or female.

  4. I'm pleased with all my fics, but I think Blue Alert is my best work so far. I feel like I really nailed the characterisation, kept it light and wrote a decent lead-up to the sex.

I'd like to see more Transformers sex-fic that's lighter and even funny. I know I've written some dark and twisted stuff but it'd be nice to see something a little different on the front page of the section.

  5. My planning isn't as complex because I only write smutty one-shots, but usually what happens is I'll get an idea in my head along the lines of "Character A and Character B doing [sex act]". Then I'll consider the personalities of Character A and Character B and their canonical relationship, and figure out under what circumstances they'd be performing [sex act]. This will also tell me if I need to write a preamble to the act itself to explain how and why they're together. For instance, in "Stud" I could jump straight into the action because Megatron is the kind of character who would force himself on his partner and no further explanation is needed. In "Help Me, Bumblebee", I needed more exposition because there were differences in rank between the characters and other obstacles to be negotiated before they could get together.

This is where it sometimes falls apart, because if I can't get A and B together in a believeable way, I don't see the point in continuing - sure it's smut, but that doesn't mean it can't be in-character, canon-friendly smut. If I can get them together in a way that makes sense, I start considering how A and B would feel, what they'd be thinking, what dialogue is necessary etc. Then I start writing from the beginning. If I get stuck I jump forward and write the next bit, and come back to the part I skipped. Sometimes I need to rewrite things, sometimes I need to lose an unnecessary plot point, and sometimes I have to abandon the story and try something else.

When it's all done I read it over again, checking that the dialogue sounds all right and seeing if it's as hot when it's written down as it was in my head. Sometimes I need to add little finishing touches, or scrap some lines that don't flow. When everything's good to go, I publish.

  6. I write Transformer porn where the TFs have "human-like" genitalia but are still robots, ie their vehicle parts don't "come off" to reveal a more android-like robot underneath like in most fics where they have penises. So when I get a review telling me that a fic was sexy and hot and yay for me for remembering that they're robots and have engines and sensors etc., that's rewarding. Because then I know that I nailed it!

  7. I'm writing a fic where the main character is at a party, it's crowded, the music's loud and whatever he's drinking is having a slightly hallucinogenic effect. Because he's tripping, he's disoriented and he starts to "lose time" - like one minute he's heaving his guts out in a crowded room, then he's in a quiet corridor with another guy, then he's on somebody's bed with someone else on top of him and he doesn't really know how he got from one place to the other. The fic's inspired by a particular song and I was thinking of marking the sudden jumps in location with one or two lines from the song in question. Could this work or is including song lyrics something that should always be avoided?

  8. You know, now that I am writing something that's just "in that moment" I'm really enjoying it. I'm dropping little hints to [female character]'s motivation to keep the readers guessing ([male character] is kinda just along for the ride - not that he's complaining :) ). Is she upset? Is she lonely? Is she mad at someone? Was she hot for [male character] all along? Can her usual love interest not do it right? Is she just drunk and horny?

  9. Oh man, I just got a brilliant one for Blue Alert -

That was /fantastic/! I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at an adult story before! You mixed the right amount of silliness with the right amount of sex, and got the characterization perfect to a 'T'! It seemed very in-tune to the humor of some of the concepts you presented.

Anyway, great job! I hope you continue writing! I love how you're willing to draw human analogies to the confusing concept of robot sex. Some might call it uncreative--but I think, in your writing, it works out really well because your so open with it (sometimes people get /too/ caught up in theories and technical mumbo-jumbo and the story loses its sexiness--but you retain it well).

Good story; keep up the good work!

This is the kind of review that makes me want to write more. It's like review crack. I WANT MORE AND SO I WILL WRITE MORE

  10. The setting Kettle posted...I'd wonder how he got there, why was she doing that, and so on. The wondering would make it even more tantilizing.

Ooh, maybe I should just go ahead and write it then. I've tried making it into a "proper" story (ie illustrate the motivations) but it might work without it since it's supposed to be one of those things that happens at a really good party where everyone's had a bit to drink. I've also considered having [male character] reference it in another fic where the other guys are making fun of his "player" status and he's insisting that he's never chased anybody, they all come to him.

So...then...why do some readers have to know every single intimate detail of every single thing going on in every single character's mind and every single step that got them to this point when reading a fic?

    Bah!

I think with fanfiction it's because the readers are used to seeing characters act in a particular way and if you (the author) deviate from that you kinda have to "show your work" or else face accusations of not knowing the characters or the canon.

This is why I envy fanartists sometimes. They can just draw a picture of Character X sucking off Character Y and nobody will complain (unless the art is ugly).

Totally! If I could draw I would so draw this picture. It's so clear in my mind (I have a filthy gutter brain).

Granted, if you write a canon pairing you can get away with it, even though there might still be people like me complaining about the lack of context.

LOL, this is totally a non-canon pairing. In fact [female character] has two canon love interests, neither of which are [male character]. [Male character] is totally unattached for the entire series but he's often shipped with other guys.

  11. It's funny you should mention this because last night I got a mental image of [male character] up against a wall, looking on in surprise as [female character] helps herself to his dick (in an oral sex way, not a bloody penis-chopping way) and I really wanna write just that - but I can't justify writing "just that" to myself. I feel like I have to have some kind of motivation and a little bit of background or else it's not a "proper" story. Even though it'd be just porn either way

  12. I prefer my men to look and act like they do in canon. I reject this idea that someone has to be the big hairy brute and someone else has to be the frail weeping virgin. I also reject the idea that the more forceful guy always has to top, and I've written three stories where the "receiver" calls the shots, snarling at the "giver" to hurry up and fuck him harder.

  13. We all know how the biology works, we all know the sounds that are generally produced; is it really necessary to document them all without adding any substance?

As well as that there's only so many sexual acts that you can describe, depending on the genders/numbers involved and your own personal limits. I have seven stories up and they contain a combined total of five blowjobs, four instances of anal sex, two handjobs and one instance of rimming. What makes each one different is the characters involved and how they feel about each other and what they're doing. I've got two stories that feature the same couple doing the same thing in the same position, but they're feeling and thinking different things in each story.

  14. Hey folks!

Just wondering how many other people on here like Transformer porn. Do you read it, write it, or both? Do you prefer sticky, or plug 'n' play? How'd you get into it and why do you like it? Discuss!

I like TF porn because I'm a fan and I like seeing my favourite characters getting it on. I read it and I write it. I prefer sticky!fics (I just think they're hotter) but I'm starting to like plug 'n' play fics too (_C_ has some good ones in the TF Movie section and Harley's stuff is pretty good too). I started to write it because most of the sticky!fics I read were out of character, or full of Sues, or had the TFs taking off their vehicle parts like clothes. I thought I could do a little better and so far I'm pretty happy with the results.

How about the rest of you?

  15. I agree it wouldn't fit at all to describe a robot's nether regions as something organic and juicy. I would imagine that would cause a bit of a rust problem =/

In my fics the robots secrete a lubricant to help grease up the relevant moving parts and ensure that nothing gets scraped or stuck, but it's oil-based, so no rusting

    EDIT: Oh, also:

I can't stand reading fics that take their time to build up a sex scene and then two seconds later BAM! The guy's blown his load and the girl's 'trembling from the aftermath of her climax'... UGH!

I like to drag out the sex scene by describing not only what the characters are physically feeling and doing, but also what they're thinking. It helps me show the reader the dynamics at work and the relationship between the characters.

  16. I really do hate stupid words like 'box' and 'flower' to describe a woman's vagina,

I like "box", but then the stories I read all involve robots. A sentence like "He couldn't wait to be inside her wet folds" doesn't fit when both parties are made of metal, but "He desperately wanted to be inside her sturdy, steel box" does.

  17. He'd need something big and extended to happen - something that really makes him feel bad and stretches over time.

Something like... I don't know... I'll guess at him loving his boss and being turned down by Optimus himself because of something that he can't help.

Yeah, the angst has to do with his relationship with Prime - there are aspects to it that Bumblebee's uncomfortable with and there are issues because of the disparity in rank between them etc. He also doesn't "act out" because of his unhappiness; it's something he internalises for most of the fic.

Also, I'll be watching anything you turn out, as well as still making my offers for us to team up and turn out something really amazing and dirty.

    Cool, thanks!
