Yes, I would. I've even had people ask recently if they could take something I've written or drawn, and play with my ideas, and I thought that was totally rad, to be honest. The fact that someone thinks my stuff is cool enough to want to take it out to the sand box for the weekend and play with it actually gives me an incredible sense of accomplishment. I think the only thing that would make me NOT okay with it would be if someone said "look at this meerkat with funny stripes on his face and wayfarers. This is my character, and his name is Alan." In other words, playing with my toys is fine. Taking them to your bedroom and repainting over the flaky bits and claiming it your own creation is not.

I prefer the third person omniscient past tense POV, but every now, I'll slide into first person present. My super crazy dark stuff seems to always be written in the present, where as my run-of-the-mill angst is past tense. I've even tried a third person limited present tense once. It went nowhere, but I really loved the overall feel of it. I'm considering re-working the basic original concept into fitting into a larger project, since it used the same characters. The dialog:action ratio is also highly dependent on what's going on, too. Since a lot of my writing takes place inside a character's head, I'm not only doing words and actions, but also a lot of snarky side remarks as well. If something super crazy action-oriented is going on, there's almost no inner monologue, and little talking. But then, there are also scenes where a lot of conversation is going on, with weird actions just as character points.

I think it's probably safe to say that at least most of us have written some little slice of fried gold somewhere that you're still proud of. These are the lines that after reading them over a million times, they still make us laugh, cry, and all around emote. What are some of your personal favourites? I'll start this up with one of mine: context is ill-versed in gay sex.

Back during NaNo, I discovered a wonderful thing called word wars. For those who don't know, they're just a chat room in which for 15 minutes at a time, everyone shuts up, with the goal of getting the highest word count in the room, followed by 15 minutes of chatter. After that, the cycle starts again. Does anyone know if there are any places active that still do this? All of my old haunts are dead, and I'd love to increase my word count, and they help immensely.

My money says that the whole deal was spawned by a new, and rather big sponsor. If the people paying your bills don't like certain things, they'll either make you take it down, or they'll move on. I post all sorts of porn and weirdness in my journal, but it's still up. If they want to ban me, then fine. I've got other options, but until then, I'm not gonna bother with moving all my stuff.
