I think that FF12 is excellent...been playing about 25 hours or similar and like what I see so far. The acting and dialog of the characters is not particulary good, but on the other hand it is of the typical level of FF games. I don't view Vaan's lack of reasons for joining the quest as anything unusual. Plenty common in FF games that some character tag along without any reason until they late in the game stumble over their connection to the main plot. The degree of freedom with balance between forced main quest and exploring sidequests and hunts is close to perfect. As for complaints about Quickenings being too good...may I suggest that you don't use them them if you don't need them. All FF games have similar ways to do take out enemies. The vanish-doom trick is probably most famous, but ways to get outrageos damage or making yourself safe from damage are also quite common. It is your choice if you take those shortcuts or solve things by other means.

I think that the AB books have lost quality. If you ask me the explict sex in the later book is not the problem really. Rather it is that later AB books carry every mark of being "filler episodes". There are many anime series were you encounter that anime has overrun the manga and they start making filler episodes to keep doing something even while they can't advance the meta plot. The latest AB book I read, Micah, is from my view point only the lastest in a series of "filler episode" books. Things lacking are murder cases that are more complicated than trivial, enemies that can challenge Anita and advancement of the meta plot. The basic problem here is that I can't understand why Hamilton is doing this, there are no manga that she needs to wait for. Not advancing the meta plot and having problem finding suitable opponents is perhaps understandable...but why no murder cases or problematic political situations?

I am a christian and for me it is given that abortion should be allowed. All this talk about abortion is murder is as far as I am concerned just smoke screens from pro-lifers. Woman who honestly want to become a mother do sometimes miscarry. There are accidents that makes the woman lose the child. My thought is that you have very weak faith in God if you think that he don't takes step to deal with these situations. If you agree to this...then why would abortion be different? Actually I can give a reason why it is different; the fetus is just a couple of cells in the beginning. How could the soul fold into something that is so far from the finished result? If abortion happens in that time period I honestly don't think that God need to do a thing, it just a fetus that is rejected. Yet even if it happens later I trust God to deal with the situation. Yet the most important thing is not this, but rather that we should not judge. It beats me totally how pro-lifers can read the direct command to not judge in the bible and run away and do exactly this. The highest possible degree of hypocrisy. If the pro-lifers took their responsibility as christians they should present their opinnion about the matter, but not try stop abortions or to silence the many christians that think abortion is acceptable. There are many ways that people try to confuse the issue. Sure people should use protection so they don't need to do an abortion. Who can object to that? Yet I can't see that it changes the situation about abortion. The cause of the many abortions are people that are too shamed to speak about sexuality. It is not some media conspiracy that makes people have sexual urges, rather God invented us like that....and narrow minded people pro-lifers that can't stand to hear the word sex gave us the rate of abortions that we have today when they supress all talk about sex, nudity and proper protection. The devil probably totally dig the activities of the pro-lifers....

My comment would be that married couples have use for condoms too. No risk of pregnancies and you don't have to clean the bed cover afterwards.
