My (2017) halloween story was the first time I had explored the topic, not going to be my usual thing, at least not for my current original universe.  (A few deranged folks in it, of course)

I generally keep snippets & old drafts because one never knows when they can turn out to be useful, or I decide to go back and expand or any of the many other reasons for doing so.

I find starting a new story as the others suggest can sometimes shake shit loose (Or make you completely abandon that story if you’re anywhere as fickle as I am.) So I’ve found writing short stories when I’m stuck helps. Because short stories are a temporary distraction, they’re less likely to tempt you to abandon your current project. Especially if you kill off all the chars in the short story! lol… But sometimes breaks from writing in general can help too. Or drive you completely insane… Unless you’re already crazy. Then, I guess, drive you completely sane? Oh no!  

@SesshomaruFreak  I agree!  I have quite a few ‘side stories’ building up for later work.  My muse sounds like an angry beehive between my ears!
I do so much love reading through the published stories!! But I find myself going back to the Tolkien  Gateway Society to make sure that I’m staying within the correct parameters for canon characters as well as the ones I create and not unintentionally pulling from another story that I’ve read on here.
Granted, there are only so many ways to describe an erotic scene but I’m trying to be cautious there too!  I’ve been in a number of the situations I am describing and going on personal experience there (wow big secret out there, oh well) (Laughs)
Honestly, I think the biggest problem at the moment is figuring out how to create and develop the suspense without dragging the story out too much.

OMG!  It’s been years ago but I remember watching a documentary on the Discovery Channel about the different species of animals that can be homosexual.  I can’t remember all of them, but there were I would say about 7-8 different ones.

Me too; I’ve got a ridiculous amount of notebooks full of stories, but across all fan sites, I only have 4 specific stories of my own posted yet. I have a collaborative work in progress as well.
Ahh Tolkien. Nice. Love Middle Earth, fascinating. Though my writing centers on anime lol
I admire when authors keep characters IC, but I’m known for writing them OOC (at least I make sure they have a reason )
I agree- I make sure I’m not unintentionally pulling off other stories. If there’s something I wanna pull, I always ask author.
Hehehe I have gotten creative with my erotic scenes. I write yaoi/slash and finally found me a bisexual guy that I can ask about m/m relations.

Hmm, that does sound like an issue. Sorry I don’t have much help for that I’m not much of a suspense writer, and though I love LotR I haven’t read any fics for that fandom.
But I sincerely hope you either think of a way, or find someone who can help.

@Avaloyuru  Here’s one response I had to somebody wanting me to go faster (channel your inner Yoda)… 
I’ve been trying to balance the hold-them-back vs faster-posting myself for a while.  For the repair guy, I’m going a bit faster/looser, but still sticking to my about one chapter buffer because that gives me a chance to combine chapters if needed, adjust, and/or the basic proofreading.  (If I have a glut of chapters, then I’ll post daily until it’s back to the one chapter)

Good.  I’ve tried waiting… until I’m a few chapters in, then it’s post and what-did-i-do?

Good advice here. It’s been my experience that trying to force a story can result in crap lol
Definitely take the muse(s)/plot bunnies to another story, new or another WIP of yours, or take a break from writing to read fics. Sometimes, reading good fics from the fandom I’m working on can get my creative juices flowing. Going through reviews you’ve gotten for your story can help, too.

Try starting a new, totally unrelated story.  The novelty of the new one may shake loose the creative bottlenecks for the one you're struggling with.

But I am not going to wait until the entire story is written before I start posting it.

I’ll amend my update…. the story’s not yet done, there’s a sequel todo (and of course, the halloween story)

lol…. good luck with that three left thing.  I’ve had oneshots turn into a oneshot plus 28 chapters…. cough, Dale’s Game...cough.

If you mean your forum profile, then you just click edit profile, and the little trash can symbol to delete the pictures. For the cover photo you just click the cover photo button and chose “remove photo” 
I can’t help you with the archive profile, though. 

I started writing it four days ago.  I’m now working on Chap 4, with quite a ways to go, unfortunately.
Now it’s time to switch gears so to speak.  I’ve written most of the ‘groundwork’ in the first 3 Chaps.  Now it’s time to change my entire mindset and jump into the villain. Therein lies the glitch
