Having said that, I get the distinct impression what we have here is a “rules are for everyone but me” thing, yet again.

Nope, we have a clear case of “we have rules that are stupid, but we’re too inept to do something about it even if people point out the mistakes straight to our faces”.

I would like to point out that if AO3, tumblr, and the ever-present Pit would care to advertise with us, we’d be delighted to let you redirect to them to your little heart’s content. However, since they aren’t supporting us, we see absolutely no reason to offer them free advertising, especially when we have advertisers who do pay for banner ads here.

In keeping with our censorship-free policy, however, we won’t poke at your use of our forum to insult AFF.  I will, however, point you to our Terms of Service and the Content Guidelines incorporated therein.

Well, if you think that me showing clear and obvious problems with your websites is insulting you, then it means I did a good job deleting my stories from this website, since I don’t want to have anything in common with such levels of incompetence.

  3. It turns out, as I have learned, that you cannot put links to other websites in your fanfictions published here. That, of course, makes perfect sense. I mean, why would I want my readers to check other places where I am much more comfortable publishing my stories, that not only do not inhibit, but encourage posting them, thus making it much more pleasant experience? How delightfully absurd.

    Anyway, here are the websites:

Ao3 – vastly superior in pretty much every way; all of my fics, and prompts are published there

tumblr – quickest to spread, I guess. All of my fics, and prompts are published there. There is an outdated masterpost in sidebar.

Fanfiction.net – oh dear god, this hellhole. Painful to edit, with completely backwards idea of publishing stories. Do not recommend. Only selected few of my stories are there.

An addendum to my reply to Nautiscaraider's comments: One of the chief reasons why I haven't taken a crack at writing a Milo Murphy's Law fic is that MML doesn't have a handy plot-driving (or smut-driving, if I'm honest) mechanism like Phineas and Ferb, Miraculous, or The Loud House have. I'm not sure how to make anything sexy come out of Milo's disaster-magnetism. Plus, the kids on MML actually act like kids; they show little of the precocity that characterizes a lot of the young characters on the other shows, which makes it more difficult to believably portray them doing anything sexual. I might have an idea for a short, non-lemony MML story, though.

You can always age them up, that could work.

  5. So, while browsing AFF today – logged in – I stumbled upon one fic (http://cartoon.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600094459&chapter=2), which had a “Add chapter” button above the title, http://i.imgur.com/zLXCDkm.jpg even though it wasn’t my fic. Once I clicked it, it has transported me to a proper text field. I have no idea if I could inject my own chapter into another person’s fic, or the system would THEN interrupt me, but the fact that this button showed up at all is utterly bizarre. It doesn’t show up on any other fics; reloading the site with the weird fic still makes the button show up; If I log out, the button is STILL there, but upon clicking it shows up the “The dragons operating the site feel the need to remind you to login at the top of the site to gain acess to this area.” message. Btw, you spelled “access” wrong.

  6. Lovely story! I have been reading your stories for quite some time, and while I don’t dig all of them – especially with the, shall we say, risque elements, like incest – I always admired you how well can you write an adult story in the cartoon universe. And this one works as well, as the others. The villains in ML act like -inators in PnF, they are all-purpose plot devices, which you use brilliantly to spice things up.

And since I have the chance to speak to you, are you planning on writing any fics about Milo Murphy’s Law, the new show from the creators of PnF?

  7. And that would be your problem. As BronxWench said, logging in with the center login boxes will result in an empty page like the one you're seeing.

The center login boxes are only to be used when signing up and activating your account. After that, you need to use the login boxes in the upper right hand corner. I am almost certain this is stated in the instructions that you get when signing up for the site.

So, what you need to try now, is to log out again, clear cookies and cache, (and in the case of some browsers, shut down and reopen the browser) and then try to log in again using the upper right hand corner login boxes.

But, since you say you changed your password, did you change it to a new password, or did you try to use the same one again? Because if you used the same password again, then that blanks the field and you'll need the archive mods to help you with that.

    Willow Darkling, Forum Moderator.

    Oh, for the love of....

yes, I used the same one. Please tell the Archive mods to undo the thing that I did, so I can do that one thing that users of your website might want to do without contacting the entire administrator team.

I really don't want to sound ungrateful, since I really appreciate the time you take, but there is a reason why people are moving to AO3...

  8. It would appear that you are not logged in. Did you use the fields in the upper right hand corner to log in? The center fields will not log you in once you've activated the account, and in fact will produce an empty page like the one you're getting.

Of course I have logged in! How else could I post a story that I wanted to edit later?

Wait... are you telling me that there are TWO different logins on this website?

Wait, what the hell is going on? It tells me I'm not registered, except I am. Explanation, please?

Just to be sure, I logged out, changed the password and logged in again, via the center fields. Still cannot do anything with the stories.

  9. I was trying to update one of my stories, and found out that I cannot edit my stories. I'm using Chrome under Windows 7, and I've checked it both with and without plugins. After I logged-in, I went into the Author Panel, and clicked "edit" under the Cartoon section (where all my stories belong). That led me to a new page, which was empty. Sans the navigation toolbars, etc, it was empty. As I said, I tired it both with and without any plugins that hide ads and scripts. Shouldn't I be able to, you know, edit my stories there? I cannot also add my stories - the same thing occurs.

  10. I have encountered two bugs while browsing the AFF and AFF Forums today:

    1) Clicking my profile -> Edit my profile, and then "Emails & Password" results in an error (http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=email). No error code, so I cannot give any details, it simply stated to contact you guys.

I've tried recreating this bug under both newest Chrome and FF, up to no avail.

    2) When publishing a new story and trying to access "SubCategory help", an error occures: http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php/topic/10864-subcategories/Again, tried several times, looks like a topic has been removed and no one cared.
