My main two interests in life are reading and writing. There is nothing better to me than sitting down with a nice book and a cup of warm tea or listening to the rain and writing some sort of story. Those are the two things that bring me peace in life and I try to do both of them as often as possible.

    Series' that I'm into:

    Harry Potter
    Twilight
    Southern Vampires
    Anita Blake Vampire Hunter
    Lord of the Rings

    Writing I like doing:

    Harry Potter Fan-Fictions
    Twilight Fan-Fictions

    Pairings I ship:

    Harry/Hermione
    Harry/Draco
    Draco/Hermione
*Those are just a few among many.*

    Edward/Bella
    Emmett/Bella
    Alice/Bella
*Again, just a few among many.*

Seeing as those are the two fandoms that I write for, that's all I have to add for now. But I am going to be working on something for the Southern Vampires, Lord of the Rings, and the Anita Blake series. I just haven't gotten that far yet.

My inspiration, funny enough, is the rain. I write best when its raining.

  1. So, I'm bumping this post up because I'm again looking for a beta for the same things that are listed above. I would also like to point out that when I listed all of the things I would need help with, I didn't mean at all times. · Punctuation · Grammar · Tenses · Sentence flow · Word usage · Characterization · Plot solidity These are things I need others to be good at. I don't need help with them at all times, but I would like somebody to be familiar enough with them so that they may catch any mistakes I DO make along the way. I need somebody that is going to be serious, mature, and long lasting because I do hate trying to find a beta. If you're interested in beta reading for me please e-mail me at: caughtinthestorm@live.com or send me a message on facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/LikeRaindrops Thank you so much everybody! <3 -Leslie
  2. Oh I see! Well then the title is Black Hills, and if I can get my first chapter finished and a beta, I'll be posting pretty soon after the category is open. I have a question for you though because it's sort of bothered me. I signed up to a site for a beta, but people were jumping my case because I write fan fiction. They were all over me because its "illegal"...but I don't understand. How can AFF.Net be such a huge website for something that is illegal and yet not get shut down? I've never heard of somebody getting in trouble for writing fan-fiction...have you? --added...check your pm for response to the other...DG
  3. Well the book I'm writing for is called Black Hills, but I'm not sure if that will be the only book. I'm just now getting into her stuff, so I'm not sure if there will be other books or not. I thought suggesting a wider range category would be better so that other fans could write for her books as well. But truly, it's whatever you prefer to do. Thanks for the reply. -Leslie
  4. Hey guys, I’m looking for somebody to be a long term beta for a Nora Roberts offshoot that I’m currently working on. I haven’t finished a chapter yet, but I’m in the process of work on the very first chapter. I’m also writing out chapter outlines to see how far and where I am going with the story. I wanted to give you a rundown about what the offshoot is going to be like. I’ll give you an idea of what the book was about that my fan fiction is written after. The book is called Black Hills and it’s about an eleven year old boy named Cooper Sullivan that is sent to spend the summer with his grandparents while his parents go through a second honeymoon to save their marriage. They pretty much always shove him aside and he is an inconvenience to them. He doesn’t feel love from them or anybody else until he visits his grandparents. They show him the love he was never given by his own parents and he learns to love and respect them. Through the summer he meets a ten year old neighbor girl named Lil Chance that becomes his best friend. The story skips ahead to when they are nineteen and twenty, at this point and time they have been best friends for nine years. They end up starting a relationship even though Coop lives in New York still. As the summer comes to an end and Coop is about to leave, they go on a trail ride and end up finding the remains of a dead woman. Coop has to leave a couple of days later, but it’s something they will have to live with forever. They try to maintain a long distance relationship unsuccessfully. However, Coop is the one to call it off because he wants Lil to have the opportunity to follow her dreams which she would have thrown away for him. So they split up for good. Coop goes on to be a New York cop and then a investigator. Lil heads off to school and ultimately opens an animal refuge in the black hills she’s called home since she was a girl. They go on with their lives. Coop sells his company in New York to come home to his grandparents when his grandfather breaks his leg and needs help. Lil and Coop butt heads because he hurt her and yet he wants a relationship with her again. To help the relationship along they are both involved in a series of events. He goes with her camping when she trail rides up to check a refuge camera that is being faulty. There they trap cougar for tagging, but before they get to it a psycho shoots and kills it. To make it worse, a few days later the man kills a wolf and hangs it from her gate. They he come back and releases one of the tigers at the refuge. While all of this happens, Coop stays with her in her cabin at the refuge to keep her safe. They find out this murderer is the murderer for the woman they found ten years earlier. They also come to find out he’s killed many people from different states. He’s after Lil because he sees her refuge as a prison for wild animals. He has some make believe idea that his Sioux blood gives him the right to kill anybody on the Sacred land of the Sioux and Lil looks like a good hunt. Anyways he captures Lil’s mom to bait her into going into the mountains where he’s been hiding out. She goes, he releases her mother, and they begin the hunt. The police, Cooper, and multiple search parties go after her. However, Coop releases Lil’s favorite cougar to help track her. Coop finds Lil first, the cougar kills the psycho killer, and then the book ends with everybody happy and safe and with Coop and Lil as a couple. So that’s where my fan-fiction takes up. I’m going to write about their life moving on from that point. It’ll involve the marriage of Tansy(her best girlfriend) and Farley(a man very much like a brother. It’ll include the expanding of Lil’s cabin, the expanding of the refuge, and so on and so forth. I’ll need help with the following things: - Grammar - Comma usage - Tenses - Word usage I’ve been told my writing isn’t so bad to deal with, but I’m looking for somebody that will be an ongoing helper with all of the above listed. If you’re interested in helping me out with my story please e-mail me with something about fan-fiction beta in the title so I don’t delete it. I'd appreciate it if you'd also tell me if you've worked with fan fiction beta-ing before and if you have worked with what I need help with. E-Mail - caughtinthestorm@hotmail.com
  5. Category Name: Nora Roberts/JD Robb Section Category To Be In: Books M - R Do You Have Any Stories For It?: Working right now on the very first chapter. I started last night and I'm looking for a beta to look over it when I've finished. I should have a chapter for the category in probably a week at the most. So I'm hoping you'll have somewhere for me to post something in.
  6. Hello there Star! I'm looking for an experienced beta reader to look over my fan fictions, and you're beta-ing offer stood out to me more then anybody else’s. I actually just posted a message in the "Request a Beta" board last night, here is the link. It might give you an idea of what I am looking for in a beta. If you are interested please e-mail me and let me know. I hope to hear from you soon! ~*Leslie*~ caughtinthestorm@live.com
  7. Greetings everyone, I hope that this message finds you all well. Obviously, I've posted this message because I am in need of a beta reader. Currently I've been looking for the right one for some time now, but I suppose I might be a little too picky when it comes to a person reading my fan-fictions. However, don't let that mislead you, my requirements aren't all that harsh, and I'm sure somebody will be up for the job. Anyways, if you'd like to take a look at what I am looking for in a beta reader, take a look at the information below and get back to me if you are interested. What am I looking for in a beta? I'm looking for an efficient reader that is willing to look over my work with a critical eye and help me to perfect my writing skills. I would prefer that this person be over the age of eighteen because most of the material I write is NC-17. This person must be available to help me with the following: · Punctuation · Grammar · Tenses · Sentence flow · Word usage · Characterization · Plot solidity I’m also open, and would prefer, to have a proof reader that is willing to fix any flaws that they might see. If a sentence isn’t written properly or would sound better worded differently, I would like my reader to feel free to edit the sentence without worrying that I might be upset or displeased. I lost contact with my last beta after my brother passed away, but I really appreciated how thoroughly she looked over my work. She would sometimes add a sentence here or there to make the paragraph flow better, or she would add a little extra detail that would explain things a little more then I had. However, she wouldn’t change it so much that it became something unfamiliar to me or felt less like my own work. So that is pretty much what I’m looking for again. I’d love to have somebody that would help me with paragraph/sentence detail/structure. I’m really not interested in a lazy beta reader that reads the work over once and sends it back with errors. The beta reader I’m looking for would look over my work with an interested eye, as if my work was their own and finding errors is essential. What am I shipping? I’m looking for somebody that is basically willing to ship just about anything, both het and slash. I do a lot of challenges that will need reading over and who knows how random those can be. Some challenges don’t always allow you to pick your pairs. So I would appreciate somebody that is willing to beta any pairing. Mostly I ship the following pairings: · Hermione/Draco · Harry/Draco · Hermione/Harry · Rose/Scorpius Content Warning: To be honest the content of my stories vary. Some will be simple things like male/female, pregnancy, solo male, solo female, oral, and torture. Pretty much anything goes so I will need a very open person that is alright with anything. Multi-Fandoms? Currently I’m only writing Harry Potter fan fictions, but I’m also looking for somebody that might eventually be open to the Lord of the Rings, Anita Blake, the Southern Vampires, and Supernatural. If you’re not into any of those I’m willing to find a beta that will work on those so you won’t have too. But like I said, as of right now I am just working on Harry Potter. Story Categories? Again, I’ll need somebody that is pretty much open for anything. Mostly my stories are romance/humor, but I am currently working on a dark fic that will have things like torture, rape, abuse…etc. Story Length? I would say that my stories range from 2,000 words to over 100,000. It really depends on the challenges I do and whether or not they are drabbles, ficlets, oneshots, or works in progress. Other Notes? I am really looking for somebody that is flexible and willing to stick around for a while. To be honest, I really hate the process of trying to find a good beta that is willing to work with me and stick around. I think I’ve gone through more then ten in the past two years because I’ve just not liked their editing style or because they were flaky. So if you are really interested and willing to stick around, I’d be more then happy to hear from you. Message me here or e-mail me a caughtinthestorm @ live . com (without the spaces of course) ~*Pornish Pixie*~ a.k.a Leslie
  8. Wow, this sounds like a great fiction challenge. If I get a chance in a few days, I'll trying writing a little oneshot or short story about this pairing. I've had a few ideas about doing one of these in the future. So...hopefully somehting to come soon.
