  2. It's a shame that some people can't accept diversity. I understand indifference -- my family and friends don't read my stuff either because it's slash or because they don't like reading in English -- but it's a far cry between that and changing your opinion about the writer. This isn't really a question about showing your writing to your partner. It's about how open to new ideas your partner is. It will definitely meet you in other aspects of life, in and out of bed. I personally don't like the idea of having to hide a part of yourself for the sake of a relationship. Today it's your slash writing -- what would it be tomorrow? Never mind enjoy slash; if your partner can't bring herself to accept it, then IMO it's indicative of many things you might want to consider. Sorry if this reply is a bummer.
  3. Seems to me this course demands the heroine both to press charges and to become a witness, and I'm not sure how much that can be kept quiet. It also doesn't stop the blackmailers from talking to the press and smearing her name, since they're already busted -- what have they got to lose? At the end of the day, there really are only three options to get out of blackmail: 1) Make it impossible: remove all evidence or kill the blackmailers 2) Make it unwise: counter-blackmail, some threat or another 3) Make it powerless: own up to the truth proudly and find a new job.... It might actually make for an interesting story (with some emotional/psychological depth) to have a caring colleague coax her into trusting him, then helping her make the big step for #3. And of course, helping her deal with the consequences -- we live for the "comfort after the hurt", after all
  4. What a wonderful conglomerate of fandoms! Been a while since I've heard HP, B5, and MacGyver pitched together like that
  5. Anyone knows good stories where Voldemort wins and everything goes wrong? I feel like diving into a dark AU. . . .
