You can get anti-itch tablets. Is it antihistamine they call 'em? I needed some once, worked well.

Thanks, JayDee, but I think it's getting better now… I'm beginning to think that the plaster I had over it was causing the itch, or maybe it was the small bruise that I got around the wound, rather than the wound itself. But at least I've gotten over the urge to gnaw my arm off
