As far as I can remeber this fic started with Hermione being visited by Dumbledore. He convinces her to try to make Draco fall in love for her, so the Order can gain more information about Voldemort. She starts her school year being announced as Head Girl. Malfoy as Head Boy (or prefects?!? I can't remember)... anyway. It turns out that one night while they're making their patrols, they come across a couple kissing, who turns out to be none other than Ron -Hermione's boyfriend- and Lavander. Long story short: Draco ends up defending Hermione and somehow (oddly) concerned about her well being. Next thing we know she comes -conveniently- with a deal for them both. She'll give Draco anything he asks for, if he pretends they're dating. And so he claims to be able to ask her one favor whenever it suits him. Finally as a way to seal the deal and make it more "believable" they agree to call each other on their firsts names and Draco gives Hermione a little pice of jewelery (I can't remember what it is, but I believe it was a charm or a pendant, somehow related to his -very well known- love of Slytheryn house). Then he asks her to give him a bracelet, Ron gave her long ago. The firsts weeks of showing in public are quite hard for them both. Specially for Hermione. She ends up mad with Harry. And even spats at -or slaps???- Ginny after she says she doesn't buy/agrees with it (this only to make the whole more believable). One day during a class of profesor Binns, Draco and Hermione are doing some "inapropiate" things; they notice they have an audience and keep the charade to upset even more Harry and Ron, who are sitting behind them, and have a full view of it. As a result the four of them end up in detention. And Ron has to do his detention alone with Hermione. Is goes fine, until they finish and Ron insists on scorting Hermione to her room. Out there Ron tries to impose himself on Hermione and Draco arrives just in time to punch Ron. Later on, Draco asks Hermione if she would like to spend Christhmas over his place and she agrees. Hermione gets to see Dumbledore one last time before she goes on vacation. He asks her about the progress in her mission, and she answers Draco is already falling for her -but she seems to forgett she's falling as well-. Then before Dumbledore dismisses her, he warns her she MUST not fall in love with Draco -ooops!- in order to suceed in her mission, and he gives her one heirloom jar, for her to give to Narcissa on her visit to Malfoy Manor. I can't remember the name of the author or a single word from the fanfic title. However, I do recall that the chapter when Hermione finds out about Ron cheating on her, the author posted she had been listening to the "All American Rejects" song "Swing Swing" (she even posted a few lines from the lyrics on the Author Notes) *Yeah, there's some smug I belive... but most dramiones do... hehehe That's about it.
