The fic I'm looking for is pretty darn old if I remember correctly. At the beginning Severus goes to America with Harry and they go on a motorcycle trip with a bunch of other people. Two of the people are Severus' pseudo fathers, one of them is Native American. I believe the term that one of his father's used to describe Harry was winkte. It goes on for a really long time about Harry and Severus' life in America and that of Severus' adopted/pseudo family. Everyone is basically in a DomSub relationship, some healthier than others. It was less sex and more relationship development.
