thanks for the tips guys. I’m past the scene now. I tend to just keep starting the scene over and over again when I’m struggling, until it feels right, which is clearly an imperfect strategy. I’ll totally try it your way next time. And there will be a next time lol.

Could try breaking it up, or start with end and work backwards, or make a lousy write through and revise.

I wish this web site was the closest I was to having a Twitter account.
Actually, that’s not really fair. Twitter works out quite well for me most of the time. I can’t commit to anything. If I try, I lose my grip on the whole lot. I can commit to getting up in the morning, most of the time. That’s about it. And going to work, usually. I can commit to doing my archive work here. Anything else is a bonus. Twitter doesn’t guilt trip you. There is that. And updates don’t need to be big rambling things. And no one says: hey where the hell is so-and-so when you go missing for three months. They just forget that you ever existed. I find that quite relaxing.
But I’m kind of weird. Don’t tell me I am, I know it. *nods*
So, in conclusion, Twitter is full of weird people who can’t commit to anything. Yep. *nods again*

I was just about to point out what BW did, as far as LJ being bought by a Russian company. Then again, it wasn’t like my fandom had a devout following on there, anyway LOL
I heard that Twitter was considering a 250-character limit. I have no idea if this is coming from a troll source but I’ve seen it mentioned a few times. Still, 250 characters isn’t enough for us ramblers but much better than 140 or whatever the limit is now.

I always laugh at Rupert Murdoch losing a shitload of money, but then again, I think that’s a mark in my favor.
LJ was where I debuted Morwen Navarre, my erotica-writing alter ego. But LJ getting bought by a Russian company was about the last straw for me, given the nature of what I write. The having to pay for everything was bad enough, but I just ignored that. The occasion when my LJ account was inexplicably changed to a Japanese language account was a bit awkward, since I couldn’t read anything to figure out how to change it back, and the support staff was less than supportive. I miss the old LJ, actually, and if they ever revert to being a useful site, I might consider making an account again. But not while it’s owned by people who kill people for doing what I write about. I have to have some scruples.

Twitter’s not so terrible. Some good twitfic on there. Or stuff like this –
I remember Livejournal boning itself. Every few months there’d be some change and then hysterical drama over the news comm or wherever with people moving to journalfen or dreamdwidth or some other site to talk about how bad LJ was for something they did, like the plus accounts or whatever. They banned gobbledegook from being an interest at one point and that led to even more rage. Then it was bought out by a Russian company and still remains pretty popular in that neck of the woods I think. I’m sort of nostalgic to go look at my old LJ accounts now…
Still, we can all laugh about Rupert Murdoch buying Myspace and losing a shitload of money. Right?

I got a twitter account, but I forget why and I think I touched it like once. But it makes signing up for some things quick! I love this forum’s status update thing. Makes it feel a little more like social media, but just for smut writers/readers, which automatically makes it ten times more awesome.

My deadlines are generally measured in weeks/months, so the schedule is more flexible so long as the work gets done.

Let’s not use that word on AFF!   I know it’s Halloween season, but that’s very, very scary!

Sounds like someone didn’t leave enough room for the Holy Spirit!
...well, unless it’s one of those fics where the Holy Spirit is getting some action.

At my work, we’re allowed to arrange our work schedules such that we get every other Friday off.  A vast majority do elect to do that.  I love it, for that extra hour M-Th, I get 26 days off per year.

The ultimate blasphemy!  When you write it, make sure there's sodomy involved.  If someone in your story has to go to hell, make sure they do something that's worth it!

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil on Netflix is funny as all hell.  Worth your time, IMHO.

I have to say, one of the best horror films I have ever seen – and one of the few that REALLY nails horror/comedy right upon its ugly head – is Housebound. It’s a Kiwi film about this young lass on house arrest, and it’s just absolutely hilarious.

Final Girl, The Babadook, Clown, Raw, We are Still Here, The Invitation, Some Kind of Hate.  Watched them all on Netflix, enjoyed every one!  Also, if you have Hulu, Hostel 1 and 2 are available this month.

It’s true! Usually the horror film offerings are bleak, but not in October!
