Good luck with getting it completed. I got in the habit of revising as I go because I drive me nuts if I am revise only. I still miss a few things, but I have less to revise during round 2. Cuts about a week's work from my revision schedules.

Oh, I did revisions and beta as I went when I posted the monster. But now I'm putting the story to bed, cleaning up and reformatting it. I've improved a bit and have to fix some things, like a slight addiction to helping verbs. I've also cleaned up descriptions just a tad. Story is long done.

This cleanup edit is taking about a month of 8hr/day so I think I've done like one flash fic this month.

Gotcha. I leave things alone for at least a year before I do the final edit. Those do take a lot of focus. Hope you do not suffer the same OCD to the point of almost killing the story difficulty I find myself fighting when I do a final draft revision. Good luck in getting it put to bed.

You'll still get it done and love it later on. At least that is how I get. Hate it and love it is the nature of a writer.

Yep. Hated the one I'm trying to get out the door on the first round of edits, and I'm warming up to it on the second round.

Wait, do you mean the reviwer was trolling, or that you had a review of a troll character you wrote, eg "I thought you described her under-bridge home well!" etc

Wasn't here, I post on four fanfic sites and three forums writing related looking for trying forpro. (Also a handful of pro's blogs/advice) I need to prune back again *sigh*

They were trolling: complaining about 'too much backstory' but wanting more description and detail. They also hated, absolutely hated two 'too foreign' words that were cognates of despot and fraternity.

(it's an original fantasy world I hope to publish based on a greek...
