This made me laugh so thought I’d share it!
Sample:
I swear someone on AFF has already written that :p

BronxWench, will always take a hug from you.
I can’t really control my sarcasm, it controls me. What do you expect from a NYer?

I know this has nothing to do with the actual story, but damn how lazy are people now a days?
They were told directly where to find the link, can’t be bothered to scroll back!
Don’t get me started on the people who rather post ‘find me’ this instead of doing a simple google search! It takes at most a few minutes most of the time. I know that is all it takes me to find their damn stories!!!!
Ok, rant over I apologise to the moderators, and will take the slap on the wrist for ranting.

We don’t mind really, if the story is posted elsewhere and a link to it is put in the response to the challenge, but this forum is meant to be for users of Adult-fanfiction.org, so, if the story isn’t posted in our Archive, we would prefer that the readers not use this forum to discuss it. I can’t see what’s strange about that rule.

Honestly, I’ve never understood why people think it’s okay to post someone else’s work to begin with, whether or not they thought it was free to use. I mean, the point of writing is to actually write something.

Thank you. I wonder if anyone has told you lately that you are a nice, helpful person. Patient too, at least with me, and I appreciate it.

How would we know? There’s a link to their story there, so why not go ask them on AO3?

Thank you for the kind words, Dirty Unicorn. I’m so happy that you like it here, and it’s always nice to get a pat on the back. So, thank you.

Can I just say it's really nice to have a forum and a writing forum especially where the atmosphere is generally pretty comfortable as well as actually helpful? Like I feel perfectly fine asking staff or other posters a question or for advice, because I’d actually get legit answers with no drama attached. I've been on plenty of forums before, and this is one of the very few that I feel like I'm going to be sticking with. For some reason I've noticed that people who are open about writing adult material come off as much less high-strung then people who don't (or who loudly proclaim to be against it).
TL;DR: Just wanted to show my appreciation to AFF’s forums for being a non-toxic place (if it is, then it’s very well-hidden, lol). I don’t see that very often.

WillowDarkling reacted to BronxWench in Plagiarism stopper?
The sad truth is that there is no way to prevent someone from copying a story. Other sites such as FanFiction.Net have tried various methods to prevent copying of stories but we’ve found stories posted here that were copied from that site. Archive Of Our Own provides download links, which certainly doesn’t help matters. We’ve been asked why WE don’t have those links, and the answer is that we don’t like plagiarists.
What we can do here is remain vigilant. If you want to give me what information you have regarding the person who stole your story and sold it on Amazon, I can certainly look into whether they have an account here or not. You can email that to tos_team@adult-fanfiction.org, and I will investigate it promptly.

First of all, I think this would get more staff attention if I move it to the General Staff Questions forum. But I won’t move it unless you want me to.
We do not have a way to download the stories posted on our Archives (unlike at least one other fan fiction site, that I know of) but as far as I know (which is very little) there’s no way to prevent a copy/paste on stories.
And I am sure that our head tech admin and our coder would love to implement something like that in the future.

WillowDarkling got a reaction from JayDee in What am I doing wrong?
I had hoped that one of the other archive mods would respond to you, since our head archive mod is on vacation this week, and I don’t know much about how the archive works.
But try one more time, clear your cache and cookies, close the browser and restart it, then try to log in again, using the login option on the right hand side on the bar of the main page. If you are successfully logged in, then your username should appear in that top bar, either on the left hand or right hand side.
If this doesn’t work, you can send an email to tos_team@adult-fanfiction.org using the email associated with your archive account and give as much detail as you can about the error.
And please remember that we are all volunteers here, so RL does often get quite busy.

I think the moderators need a little more information than this to process your account for deletion. You can send an email to this email: tos_team@adult-fanfiction.org, from the email associated with your account, and request that your account be deleted.

WillowDarkling got a reaction from CloverReef in Character's job title
The only one that I can think of, that GeorgeGlass hasn’t already mentioned is “Fixer”.
It’s a bit clichéd, I’ll grant you, but I’ve seen it used in both movies and TV shows, and it could fit. Although there might be a bit of implication that the person “fixes” uncomfortable situations, as in might have someone killed if you need them to be killed, etc. English is my second language, so I don’t always realise implications like that.
On a different note, I kind of like that word GeorgeGlass suggested, “acquirer”, I might steal it one day
