M/M 18 yr old, MUCH older club owner, not human

I’m looking for a story where humans and another species coexist. The characters are both from the other species which appears to be male only. 

 An 18 year old high school student is a bar or nightclub for a concert by a band he really loves. I think his friends dare him to approach a guy. The guy turns out to be the owner of the club, who is much older (100+). They end up falling in love despite the age difference and the older guy’s hesitance. The younger guy is a male/side of the species, while the older guy is a breeder? 

The story was based off another author’s world but I remember even less about that one. I do remember that it was historical in setting as opppsed to modern like this story.
