Harriet (or whatever name you prefer) Potter observes from a young age that girls (especially quiet, well-behaved, girly ones) are treated more kindly than boys and that sexy women are often catered to by men. This is reinforced by Aunt Petunia, who has definite ideas about how proper little girls should be raised, and teaches Harriet (inadvertently or not) that the only way she can be secure in life is to have a powerful husband looking after her. Harriet’s clever and cunning, so she develops a persona for herself as a submissive, obedient, and harmless little girl that couldn’t possibly ever be a troublemaker. She’s praised by all of her schoolteachers and neighbors for this persona, manages to make her relatives tolerant of her (because there’s no freaky business and Petunia is always being complimented on what a wonderful niece she has), and even dates one of the popular boys at Little Whinging Primary to ensure that she stays at the top of the social ladder. This is basically the mindset Harriet has when Hagrid tells her that she’s a witch.

When she gets to Diagon Alley, Harriet reads up on the society of the Magical World and realizes that the Pureblood families hold all of the power. She immediately hatches a long-term plan to seduce the heir of a rich, powerful House (maybe reading a bit about how House Black currently doesn’t have a Head and creating a quick family tree to see that Lady Narcissa Malfoy nee Black’s son is the most likely heir) and decides that it’s best for this heir to be one of the Dark Lord’s followers, so she could be protected from Voldemort (Harriet is NOT interested in risking her life in a war she doesn’t particularly know anything about or care for). She spends so much time at the library that she doesn’t get to meet Draco at all.

In the train, the same events with the Weasley’s occur but Harriet’s more manipulative mind recognizes that the family was trying to take advantage of her for the Potter wealth. She plays nice though, until Draco comes into their carriage and tries to get her to follow him. At this point, Harriet can’t believe her luck. The son/nephew of Voldemort’s chief lieutenants and wealthy, Pureblood scion Draco Malfoy was the exact kind of wizard she would target for her own benefit. She agrees to go with him but insists that they find a private apartment first, so he could teach her a little about Hogwarts before she comes off as ignorant to his friends. Then, with Crabbe and Goyle guarding the door outside, Harriet starts to put her plan into action.

Possible Scenes:

  1. Flattering Draco by leaning against him and using her fingers to play through his hair or over his chest as he tells her about Hogwarts.
  2. Getting sorted into Ravenclaw/Slytherin to continue her plans and having them explore the castle together on the first day. “Tripping” over the stairs, being rescued, and thanking him with a kiss. And so on, until Draco asks her to be his girlfriend.

Incidentally, this doesn’t have to start at the beginning of her education or with Draco Malfoy. At any point, an older Harriet could decide that she wants out of this war and will make herself a submissive, Pureblood-appropriate wife to a powerful-enough man to do it. It has to be her choice though and motivated by the most practical desire of all – survival.
