A new idea I thought of was Kushina continuing the tradition she went through and recruiting her own student like Danzo did with her. Just like the Sandaime in canon, she'll decide to get herself a Genin and train him/her the way Danzo did her.

I have a few characters of whom the Genin should be:

1) Anko

2) Yuugao

3) Kurenai

4) Rin

There may possibly be others, or even a boy instead of a girl, but that's up for future chapters to decide.

I like the idea of Kushina taking a student and continuing the tradition so to speak.

Personally, I think a male student would make more sense. As far as I understand Kushinas purpose in Root she is an assassin who gets close to her targets by seducing them, right?

So unless her female target is attracted to women herself she is pretty much out of luck.

... I don't really have much of an idea who, though, but in the end, this is an AU, so you could probably make it work with anyone you choose.
