:samurai: Destroy the searches.

I actually had a quick question too. Do the authors know that there's the section on here where they can post searches and challenges? Then again a lot of people take the easier way instead of the right way in doing things.

I've been trying to tell them in reviews to searches; I've also been watching the reviews and there are some people who don't like the ban on searches in the archives. They have valid concerns about exposure and response time, and I have some questions to ask over in the "suggestions" section (or just in conversation with DemonGoddess061) about how to make that better (in AFF 2.0) so that those concerns can be met. I think the best thing that we can do, as non-mods and non-admins, is to show that there are AFF members who aren't representing the admins but who understand and support moving the searches to the forums. In a very respectful and friendly way. Better to deescalate the conflict before the users have a chance to revolt, yeah?

searches destroyed.....

Something I do with these, is I also email the users to point them to the right place. Unfortunately, the reason for the elimination for the search/challenge/request categories was to make it so the db for the archive wouldn't crash. Thing is .... huge..... so, have to cut some stuff somewhere.

There are things we've talked about as far as the new fiction portal, in making it so the different software can interlink, it really CAN'T right now, as the current software for the fiction portal is very very old, and needs replaced. So, for the next several months, everyone will have to do this as the forum can support things much better than the archive can. (new software, more secure, etc)
