Ayato Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I have a question... I'd like to re-write a few stories, but they already have a copy up on AFF. I don't want to remove the old copy (it could be years before I finish) am I allowed to post the ... I suppose it's a second draft... as a new story, or would I absolutely have to remove the old copy first/replace the chapters with the new chapters? Quote
pittwitch Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I do know you need to contact the TOS email to alert them to the duplicate. Once the editing is done, DG, the great and powerful, can merge the old and new, keeping all of the hits/reviews, etc. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Not only do I need you to let me know you're doing this with links to the stories, when it's safe for me to merge them, I need to know that too. At some point during the rewrite, you'll be comfortable enough with where the rewrite is going so that I can transfer hits/rates/reviews from the old to the new, while you continue with the rewrite, and then nuke the old. Ayato Posted November 24, 2014 Author Report Posted November 24, 2014 Would a notification through the PM system in the forums work? I obviously have a story in mind, but would like to plan out first, to make certain I can actually accomplish a re-write. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted November 24, 2014 Report Posted November 24, 2014 sure. Because that way I remember to post it up in staff to keep track. Quote
