Eventually he has enough and leaves. The bond is killing him for leaving his mate. For some reason Harry is able to switch the mateship to a person he ends up falling for. Whether it is a power of his mate or a ritual it doesn't matter. I want his previous mate causing problems. Maybe his original mate was Draco or Snape and that was why they treated him bad.
