adding story to reading list too complex

why is it so difficult to add a story to my reading list? I had to open another tab to the story I wanted to add just so I could copy & paste the writer's and story's ID. there must be a way of simplifying this.

There will be later, but at present, this is how you have to do it. Once the software is finished being written, you'll be able to add with a click. The important thing was to make it so it worked first.
