Hey all! So I just found this subforum for authors to promote their stories. I already made a discussion thread that discusses it in fair detail, but I'll post here, too! The more word gets around the better, I always say!

Summary: A high-fantasy story set in the fictional country of Lesbanon, which has by way of ancient magic been populated by only women for over a hundred generations, A Tale of the Son of Woman follows the story of a young man named Cro, son of the Princess of one of the ruling factions. Throughout his life, he faces bigotry and persecution for being born a man, and is cast into exile when nothing more than a child. But when his mother's family, the ruling house of the very kingdom that exiled him, falls under threat from an enemy faction - and a previously unknown third force working beneath the surface of this political hellfire - he feels it his duty to do all he can to save them, despite the hatred universally felt for him and his kind.*

Please don't worry about sugarcoating responses - I'm a big boy, and I can take my work being insulted and trivialized for being garbage if it truly is so. Just provide some constructivism, pointing out specific areas that need improvement and suggesting ways to improve it! Rating: Whichever rating is higher: AO or XXX. The story is a serious drama, but it is not shy on sexual explicitness - when the story is sexually explicit, it is downright pornographic. Certainly not something to read if you're offended by pornographic depictions of sex (or, for that matter, girl/girl sex in general, since this story contains a whole lot of that). Some of the warnings described above may not be evident in what has been written formally, but trust me when I say that each and every one of those tags will reveal themselves as I progress through the outline of this story.

I'll leave the discussion thread I made in the Original Writings section for the discussion of this story. I will say, however, that the story is satire - it is an entirely serious drama within its self-contained universe, but the universe that it exists is an absurd exaggeration of tropes that modern mainstream media has spun on the high-fantasy genre. If you're not a fan of political commentary, though, then don't fret too much; I would like to think that the satire and commentary is fairly subtle, and I feel that it will be easily drowned out by the action that unfolds for everyone but those determined to find said commentary.

With all of that being said, I hope you all enjoy the story! I highly recommend, if you're even the least-bit interested, that you visit the discussion thread on the story. I will be posting in that thread whenever I write a new chapter, and will hopefully be maintaining discussion with people interested in the story.
