Squallfan Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 My PS3, that I just got a few months ago died already. So now I get to send it to Sony for repair. Needless to say, I'm pissed. $600.00 for a system that should still be working perfectly fine, dammit! Has anyone else here had a problem with there PS3?
Guest Alien Pirate Pixagi Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 ...Ew, you bought a PS3? I joke, I joke. But seriously, that's pretty fucked up. $600 is FAR too much money for something that craps out in a few months. Is it in a room thats got a lot of humidity, or where it may have been splashed with something? My sister's XBox and computer both got fried from humidity (it somehow killed the fan, and the lack of fan killed the power source). It seems that most computer/gaming counsel issues are fan related. This may be an embarrassing question, but I have a friend with a roach problem and both his PS2 and XBox fried. When he opened the PS2 to see if he could figure it out, an ass load of dead and living roaches came out. With his XBox, it was the same thing. So, is it possible the machine got infested in any way? You don't have to admit it, but you might want to carefully open it up to see if you've got anything crawling around in there. Then very carefully close it again 'cause opening it may automatically null out your warranty...
Squallfan Posted April 14, 2007 Author Report Posted April 14, 2007 Nope, none of the above. Plus, I dust it at least once a week so it shouldn't be because of that. Unfortunately, I think my system was just faulty. My home is roach free, thank God!
Guest Alien Pirate Pixagi Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Welp, that's what you get for going Sony! -wags finger at- Next time, get an XBox 360. Or a Wii. 'Cause, you know, they've got GAMES and DON'T crap out on you after a couple of months (okay, the first X Box did that right after launch, but they know better now!).
ZombieDuke Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Isn't it odd? I have a PSOne from 10+ years ago that still works but the PS3, which is so shiny and new, dies within a few months? Something sounds not quite right...
Squallfan Posted April 14, 2007 Author Report Posted April 14, 2007 This is the first time I've had a problem with a Sony product. Sorry, I love my PS3, even though I have to get it fixed. It's got a warranty, so at least I don't have to pay for it to get repaired. I'm still gonna have to go for a while without my PS3 fix though.
Squallfan Posted April 14, 2007 Author Report Posted April 14, 2007 Well, I guess I was wrong. My PS3 isn't dead. Apparently they had a few problems when I updated my system and it just had to be rebooted. Happy Dance.
Leonhart29 Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 I'm glad to hear that - now get busy on FF XII so you can get going with the sequel to Redheaded Stranger... (now I'm doing the happy dance!)
