shadowkitten Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 Specifically, have an idea to write a dark fantasy story (or rather several), set on the world Carcosa. The complexity is, the world in question was created at different times by Ambrose Bierce, Robert W Chambers, and Geoffrey McKinney. It borrows heavily from HP Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos, but the material from McKinney is based on Dungeons and Dragons (but hardly traditional to that game). So where does this fit? It isn't original. Is it crossover between Cthulhu Mythos and D&D, or would it be most appropriate elsewhere? Quote
DemonGoddess Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 It honestly depends on which is the base world. For example, if you're drawing heavily on the Lovecraft mythos but setting it in say, Ravenloft, that's where it would go. Also, if you're setting it in the game setting, it goes to the game subdirectory. If in the books written based in the game worlds, the appropriate category there in books. If the world you're writing for (like a book title), doesn't have a subcategory yet, request it here, keeping in mind which world you're actually going to set it in. Quote
