DemonGoddess Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 This applies where a user takes a snippet of a chapter, for example, and quotes it. Or, where a user uses song lyrics as part of the story itself. The original author still has to be credited, but this is done differently and SEPARATELY from the disclaimer, within the story chapter. Example of an inline citation (this is a paragraph quote). An inline citation is what would commonly be used for this, and song lyrics. Should an author use extensive source quotes, in that for instance, it would be FOOTNOTED at the end of the chapter. With a symbol following the quotation, and the same symbol with the source listed at the bottom of the page. ---- Formats that would be acceptable, for example (which aren't "by the book" citations): blurb of text from book/tv show/movie* another blurb of text/dialogue from book/tv show/movie* AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER *Some dialogue taken from (name the book/tv show's episode title/movie title
