oldman543 Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 When you asked me to move my story to the Anime 2 section I was very confused. I didn't know that an Anime 2 section existed on this site. I looked and looked and couldn't find it. Finally I stumbled upon it when I was in my author's page and hit the selection bar for the categories to go to. In the drop down bar under anime, there was anime 2. that is fine except that up to this day I had no idea that this anime 2 section existed which is why I posted my FMA story under misc. because when I looked for a good ten miniutes I couldn't find a section for FMA. All i'm saying is that your titles are misleading. I missed the four fandoms squished into one and didn't see FMA in that tab. It could just be me.... and probably was just my mistake, but the FMA part tagged onto the end I just glossed over until I really looked at it and realized what it stood for(this is after I had published my story under anime 2 not knowing where to find it because i couldn't find an anime 2 section anywhere on the site and searched some more). This is fine but then when you said anime 2. I looked for fifteen miniutes befoer I stumbled uppon that section by a minor miracle. I realize now that it is the 4 in 1 section which includes FMA but you have not stated that anywere so it was very confusing. I don't know what a solution to the problem would be except changing one of the two names for the same section to be the same so that it isn't confusing. It's ur site so do whatever but I was confused so others probably are too. Gosh.... this post sucks gramatically and structurally. Sorry for that. Thanks for listening, Oldman543 Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 The menu in the archive clearly says "anime", and then "Gundam, Beyblade, DBZ, FMA". The subdomain is named anime2, where Gundam, Beyblade, DBZ, and FMA exist. Look at your browser bar, and you'll SEE the subdomain names. Quote
oldman543 Posted January 15, 2010 Author Report Posted January 15, 2010 The menu in the archive clearly says "anime", and then "Gundam, Beyblade, DBZ, FMA". The subdomain is named anime2, where Gundam, Beyblade, DBZ, and FMA exist. Look at your browser bar, and you'll SEE the subdomain names. Right. But under Anime/Games Archive there is anime and -Gundam, Beyblade, DBZ, FMA- no anime 2. This is what I am pointing out. The only place anime 2 is listed as such is in the subdomain as far as I can tell in the author pannel and here it doesn't list -Gundam, Beyblade, DBZ, FMA. (which I never actually used until I moved my story)This is where it is confusing. What i'm saying is that it is confusing calling the same section two different names. It may work for you, but for me I was confused. Sorry if I am the only one that had this problem. I just thought that I should bring it to your attention in case that I am not the only one. Quote
Guest jj19 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 It is really simple. As it would be too long for a subdomain name (Gundam, Beyblade, DBZ, FMA), it is simply anime 2, as it covers no specific fandom and is just a collection of the medium size fandoms (Large ones get there own, smaller ones go into the normal anime. Especially as this allows the AFF team to go and put another fandom in anime 2 instead of renaming the whole subdomain. (Please correct me if I am wrong) Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 jj, you got it exactly right. Subdomain names are what they are. However, what tells you what "lives" there, is actually the menu. For example, when the changes I've asked opinions on for comics and xmen sub domains are implemented, the subdomain names will remain the same, whereas, the MENU option itself will change to reflect it.
