dazzledfirestar Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 I've just noticed a definate lack of posting in some of the fanfic topics. Specifically Comics (which honestly didn't have all that much action at the best of times... but whatever) and LOTR. Is this happening to the other fandoms too? And obviously there are a few of us left around here So what's going on? Why is it so hard to start up any kind of discussion in the more specific forums? Any ideas?
Guest Melody Fate Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 People probably don't realize AFF is up again. Or else they've found other places to gab? Those are my guesses.
Guest Rockin Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 People probably don't realize AFF is up again. Or else they've found other places to gab?Those are my guesses. I pretty much agree. The site was down for a long while. Give it some time. There's gonna be people coming back.
Guest Melody Fate Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Give it some time. There's gonna be people coming back. Yup. A couple weeks ago, I'd see only three names on the front page of AFF. Now I'm actually seeing over a row of them most of the time.
Guest Big Samurai Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Most of the usual suspects in the video games forum are already back in action, thankfully, but the rest of the board seems pretty quiet.
Guest Acita Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Well, most of my categories are still MIA. I've actually talked to old favorite authors who used to lurk some of the specialized forums. A couple of them said outright that they will not be returning to AFF simply because we were told service would be down for a month back in March, yet they can't update even in late June. It happens, I suppose.
Guest Soulsearcher Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Besides, as word spreads, hopefully fun new people will also find their way here. The more the merrier. But yeah, the anime section is definately slow right now, it's why I spend most of my time here. There are actually people here to talk to and get to know.
dazzledfirestar Posted June 26, 2006 Author Report Posted June 26, 2006 And aren't we glad we still have aimless babble! What would I do with my time without all of you!

Guest Soulsearcher Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 {races through the thread tossing flower petals in a long flowing skirt} "Let the sunshine, Let the sunshine in, the suuuuuun shine in" Next we can all sit around singing Kumbaya! And now, something to actually refer to the original title of the thread ... Where have all the ecchi's gone? Long time passing Where have all the ecchi's gone? Long time ago Where have all the ecchi's gone? Gone to porn sites, every one ... When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?
dazzledfirestar Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 Very nice musical interlude guys!
Guest Soulsearcher Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 A computer, a can of Mt. Dew, a Wendy's Frosty and a bored Soulie. Isn't it amazing what the right ingredients and a little bit of boredom can make? {tap dances her way out of the thread to "42nd St."}
Guest Agaib Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 I am required by otherwordly forces under pain of death to point out every time the number forty two is mentioned.
Guest cranky mom Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Yes, where is everyone? I know its summer and all but this has been going on for months now and people get tired of being told a few more days or weeks and go somewhere else. I have also noiticed that there are few er and fewer new stories being loaded and no new updates to stories that already exisist. Does anyone know just exactly when all will be done and back on track? or did I miss an update?
NightScribe Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Cranky Mom Do you browse the entire site, or are you more specific in what you like to read (anime, LotR, or whatever)? I can say that the HP section is humming along, lots of new stories and people updating WIP's, myself included. I just checked the books section, too, and there's new posts there as well. Could be that during the down time people got lazy and need a boot in the bum to get motivated; have you considered posting a challenge in a category you really like? Or e-mail an author and say something like "Hey, now that AFF's back up, I've been looking for updates to that story you were working on." Chances are good the author would appreciate hearing from a fan and if they've moved on to another site, they'd probably tell you were you can find them. Just a thought.
Guest cranky mom Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Lord of the Rings is where I mainly stay and yes I have e-mailed and given what I think are positive feed back on their stories.
