Guest StSE Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Since I've got a bunch of PC junkies on here. I decided to post this question. How much to build a desktop with these specs: 24X CD-RW/DVD w/cyberlink power DVD 8 GB memory DDR2-667 SDRAM, 2 DIMMS 340 GB hard drive, 9.5 MM 5400RPM NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M 512MB TurboCache (256 MB discrete) Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g MiniCard intel core 2 Duo T7250 (2 GHz, @M L2 Cachs 800 MHz) dual core XP pro OS Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 First of all, XP Pro has been discontinued by Microshit, so the likelihood of finding a registerable version any more isn't so good. As far as the components, depends on how new they must be. In other words, if you're willing to buy something that's a version or two behind the current release, you'll STILL get good hardware, but save loads of money. Quote

Dell business sales is still offering and selling new PCs with XP pro... Well, as of yesterday when I called. Quote
