DemonGoddess Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 First of all, if you have ANY browser toolbars (i.e. google, yahoo) uninstall them. The things are trojan and other virus attractors. Secondly, there is a shareware utility which works very well on rogues. Malwarebytes.org In fact, this particular utility is the only which actually worked in removing Antivirus2009 (a rogue malware which masquerades as an antivirus program). Those of you who are online a lot, should be running this utility DAILY. Antivirus programs- There are several GOOD free antivirus programs. Avira has less false positives, and is very good about finding rogueware as well. If one uses the two together, shouldn't have too much in the way of issues with the nasties anymore. download page There's a couple options for download, paid and free. I use the free version.
