4011 There's a squishy/wordord with a quotation mark, I think. Or... well, it could just be bad authorship, but I think it's a glitch.

Here's a fun one. It made me very tired, but I did finish one whole Buffy > General page today. http://buffy.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=2056 The chapter missing author info is 22. The chapters with fun garbled text are: 1–15, 17–21, 23–31, 33–46, 48 In addition, chapter 5 has some strange codage. Curi

Erm. Two things, actually. Firstly, I know that the site is in its reorganization stage, so I don't know if this is good timing or bad timing, but... 1. In the reorganization, I expect that a lot of the Hermione/misc. Death Eater (Rodolphus/Rabastan Lestrange, Bartemius Crouch, Fenrir Greyback, etc.) categories are going to disappear. I would like to suggest that these stories are part of a specific subgrouping, not large enough to merit individual categories by name but large enough, perhaps, to belong to a category called Hermione/Other Canon Death Eater. There are, obviously, categories like Hermione/Severus (I hate that it's called Hermione/Snape. It's just not parallel at all. If it's going to be "Snape," it should be Granger/Snape. Or full character names in the categories, like "Hermione Granger/Severus Snape." Just so everyone knows. Speaking of weird names, the Ron/Lavandar category? No. Lavender. I can't stand the girl, and I'm still offended for her sake. Kind of the way I get offended when Rodolphus becomes "Rudolphus" and Blaise Zabini because "Blaize Zambini." Maybe there could be a reminder on the submissions page to check and see that canon characters' names are spelled correctly? Especially when they're the main character in the story.) and Hermione/Lucius and Hermione/Voldemort, which all have enough submissions to be their own categories, and this category would <i>not</i> house those pairings. Anyway, that brings us to #2, which is ever so slightly more controversial. In HP, there are several popular threesomes. These include my OT3, Lumionus (LM/HG/SS), Hermione/Twincest (HG/FW/GeW), Trio Smut (HG/HP/RW), and Hermione/Blaise/Draco. I'm willing to volunteer my energies to sorting through the Threesome/Moresome category in exchange for the birth of those dedicated subcategories. It would be nice for people who want a specific trio to not have to sort through 73 pages of stories (which I did yesterday, I think.) in search of an overlooked OT3 gem. Curi

First off, I have a feeling that my comments are neither new nor unique, but I'm really not up for scanning the whole history of suggestion topics. (I could suggest that this forum compartmentalize further, with stickies for "presentation" and "story options" and "communication" and clear and concise explanations for why certain frequently requested features just aren't feasible, but... *cough*I'm a control freak*cough*) So, I hate the warnings system here. It's pretty annoying to try to figure out where the summary ends and where the warnings begin, especially when there's so much other information readily available (Time of publication, time of last update, time of last edit, etc). It would be nice to see warnings have a separate line of their own instead of just being tagged on to the summary. Additionally, until I uploaded my own story, I was unaware of the meanings of a lot of the "warnings," and it's not as though the abbreviations and terms are universal (I'd never heard of most of the anime terms—that frequently show up where they are not wanted in non-Anime categories, despite being very clearly labeled "Anime"— or WAFF, and a lot of the abbreviations are nonstandard, as well.) or there is a well-publicized list of definitions easily accessible from any page. Perhaps it is available on the FAQ, but it would be really nice to give "Warning Definitions" its own page from the Info & Support dropdown. And I'd like to see Dub-Con added to the warnings, because there is a shade between Non-Con and, um, Con. (Maybe it's there and I overlooked it; I don't know. I also don't know if I failed when I was unable to add a warning to my already-published story or if that feature just doesn't exist.) I understand if the warnings can't be separated from previously published summaries, but it would be a nice feature to add. It might screw a bit with unified appearance, but considering where we are... I want skins for the archives. I hate the purple/grey thing, and I don't get the number five, and I want to be able to change colors and fonts, because Times New Roman is a print font, not a screen font, and sometimes for weird reason authors make text lines that are too big for my screen. Bastards. */end pout* This is maybe kind of a bug, but I don't find the weird garbled text thing anywhere else on the web where I visit. (You know what I mean, right? Where there will be two words and they'll be all jumbled and you can sort of figure out what the author actually typed, but it's still guessing? Yeah.) Next on my laundry list—categories. Mutiple! Sometimes a story isn't a threesome/moresome but it's also not just one ship. Or, with AUs and Crossovers. Stories shouldn't be double posted, but it would be nice if they could belong to two categories at the same time, though I get the sense that it's not possible the way the archive is currently organized. I promise we're nearing the end of my comments. I'd love to be able to sort by title, as well, or story length, or warnings, or whatever. Will that feature ever appear? Finally, I just wanted to say that I do appreciate the hard work the staff put in to making AFF a good archive. It's a tough job and there aren't a lot of people who understand that it's volunteer work and that you have a lot to handle. The end. Curi

I know that the HP subcategory Hermione/Lestrange will (probably) be deleted, but if that happens and the stories in it default to the next subcategory in the hierarchy, they will be misplaced. Hermione/Lestrange is currently housed in Harry Potter > Femslash - Female/Female, but the four stories in the category are all Hermione/Rodolphus Lestrange, who is male. These stories belong to the Het - Male/Female category. Curi
