Hi, I think I posted about this before, but I don’t see the topic I created listed in my forum history, so I think it must have been deleted. Some months ago, I noticed that the formatting in my stories had changed due to the cyberattack/technical issue that the site suffered, causing bolds to be removed. Italics still work OK, as far as I can see. I think I saw an announcement that the site had been taken out of read-only mode, so a few days ago, I logged back in to update one of my stories, and I noticed that bolds still don’t work, like so:
When viewing the site’s built-in story text editor:
When viewing the story after saving changes in the editor:
As you can see, text that is bolded in the editor view is not bolded when viewed after saving changes in the editor. I also noticed that in the editor, the buttons for inserting bulleted or numbered lists are gone, which I used to organize parts of this story’s disclaimer. Regarding the bolded text, in addition to help organize text, I use that to give special emphasis to certain words in my story text. Is there something I need to do to my story to get bolds working again, and will the bullet/number list tools be re-instated, in the future? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure that the story you’re looking for is “Both” by author “richonyx.” However, the story and the author appear to have been removed from AFF recently. I remember reading it again within the last 2-3 months and now, I can’t find it.

Hi! I’ve just posted a new InuYasha story, “Love On Smack,” named for a song by English band Witchfinder General. It’s a super smutty, romantic InuYasha/Kagura fic that’s about 11,000 words long. Probably 3/4ths or more of it is highly explicit sex.

Has anyone noticed that when adding a chapter to a story, applying "justify" to the text and then reading that chapter in its respective archive, the paragraphs in the chapter are separated by very large blank spaces?

Hi! I've posted a new story in the InuYasha section. It's called "A Twist in the Myth." The title is taken from the 2006 studio album of German metal band Blind Guardian. It will serve as an alternate ending to InuYasha: The Final Act, a "twist" in the "myth" that is InuYasha. It will eventually be an InuYasha/Marvel’s Avengers crossover. I laughed at that, CHF, because that is exactly how many of these kids talk on Runescape. I can't understand many of them because their grammar and spelling are so appallingly poor. But I do get a kick out of the unintended puns they make because of that poor spelling, like saying to a friend: "Let's meat somewhere" Makes me want to make a butcher joke, or something even more obscene, but since they're kids I refrain.
Gamer attempts to type "the" and actually types "teh." The world then falls into chaos.

You know, it must take a LOT of effort trying to write something out like that. Why don't the people who do this regularly just type normally and instead invest their time into something... you know... useful?
Actually, I didn't type the whole thing out. I just took Tesla's post and threw it into the English-to-12-year-old-AOL-user translator located here.

It's not just girls who are discouraged from reading and learning in this country, Pix, it's all children. I play an on-line game called Runescape, and the average age of the kids on there is about 14. And the American kids can't spell and have the poorest grammar, plus they are mostly extremely ignorant. If I make any kind of intellectual reference the people most likely to get it are those from other countries playing the game. It makes me sad. Because ignorance is a choice, while stupidity is not. I can forgive the idiots more easily than the ignorant, because if you're stupid you were born that way. It's like you have a club foot or something. But to deliberately choose to be ignorant? That is offensive to me. But then, much of our American culture(such as it is) is offensive to me anymore. That we live in a society rampant with ignorance and fear is nauseating. That we happily perpetuate it in our children - that is unforgivable.
