figured the problem with the forum... I think Azrael must stay Vampire and Lycan. He has been born as a vampire (with a suppressed were-filling). He had the Blue Line gifts from day one with the exception of the healing light and I now think he had to miss this special gift because if he had it, he would have burned Britta's 'poison' out of his system before he turned into a Lycan. Why not becoming a were? Because Britta was THE LYCAN and her bite must be exceptionally in the result if she and everybody she could have aiding her wasn't able to remove the mages spell, that is locking the were within the brothers. Plus, the brothers have been bitten countless times by strong Lycan (Ping, Kiyoshi) - a bite alone is apparently not enough to release the were-blood. Apart from that I deem it neccessary that Az-wolf can change at will, so he must be a Lycan. On to the next question: should he still be a vampire? HEll, yes. Marcus needs a vampire as a partner. He might be into kink stuff, but sodomie? Eeek. He shouldn't have to wait until Az finds a way to turn back into a humanoid form and Az already told you that he still was a vampire - he turned back, dropped his fangs and drank blood - and that he didn't in the Lycan way. So I come to the result Az-wolf is a Vampire and a Lycan - he anyhow is neither the common way; he is Hashmalliam as much as his brothers. I beg you don't take the vampire from Azrael - the brothers have enough drama in life, they don't need a version of 'Ladyhawke'

Hi Kiix, Do I have do hide from the fan-girls?

Hi Kiix, OW might have taught him to follow rules, but why isn't Skell doubting those rules? I mean, he already realized the OW's actions regarding him and the coven fledglings were wrong. Why doesn't he doubt the rest of their teachings? He had a rough upbringing and little to no socialization skills, but he isn't a psychopath and he sure as hell is clever. How would it? In which way is he laying down the law? To the whole rest of the Nation Liam is nothing but a PA, who got a promotion into the bed of his former boss. William is without significance. Aside that, he is punished within the House and the House keeps it's secrets well. His punishment doesn't affect the rest of the Nation. I still think, the brothers are on the wrong turn. The House is not the Nation and shouldn't be used to carry out judgement regarding the court or the House of v.D. I hate to say it, but right now I'm of the opinion Xavier has to stand up and take the role of a leader as well as the role of the elder brother. Letting Skell get away with everything out of a wrong sense of duty / gratitude doesn't do him any good and is affecting the Nation badly. If I was him, I firstly established a state-structure. - Confirm the Council, but make a few changes. Give every house a seat. Give the covens a seat! Take the role of an assessor, who in case the council can't reach a settlement is given the final vote. - Officially divide the House of Assassins from the court. Xavier can't stay first and Emperor. Such a mixture drives wedges into the unity of the Nation. Everybody could rightfully assume the Emperor isn't open to all parts of the Nation and only defending his own interests. Especially the covens. The House was killing them off, the former Emperor was mowing coven-fledglings down. Why would they trust his spawn? - In his role as Emperor Xavier needs advisers aside from family-members and he needs to keep track with the other races. Maybe the races can establish an annual convention (with armistice during it's duration) were all concerns etc. can be advanced. In the current situation at least the Lycan/Weres, humans and vampires have common interests. A starting point? Currently the brothers gather enemies and split the Nation. They should keep at least two of them occupied. Give back Hades the House (with Marcus as first) and establish Thomas as head of the Council. Aside from occupation thus cuts the ground from under them if they attempted to gather allies against the Blood Emperor + Xavier can keep eyes on them. Again, if Skell keeps on with Hades the way he does, he better kill him now before he causes trouble, but that probably leads to Liam killing himself, being reborn and kick the brothers ass. So he better concludes peace with grandfather/uncle. [You know I love Honeybee.] This time it's definitely Xavier, who has to grow and overcome his self-doubts. Accept the guilt, bear with it but don't let it stop you. So much for now. Thank you for answering! K

Admittedly not what you're really asking for but here my thoughts anyway. I think Sex should resign as head of the house but neither am I happy with Claudius being it. They currently are the Emperor and the heir to the throne (not counting the winglets for apparent reason) and I think in modern times it is neccessary to sustain a certain separation of powers (the hunters surely agree with me on that point) + both will have all hands full with OW and ruling the nation. They shouldn't bother themselves with the house but have it in their back-pockets. So that would leave Marcus a candidate for the position as head. Otherwise Marcus wouldn't go undisputed as royal consort and and and, so I'd prefer Hades as head. Why? Firstly, he practically is the House and knows the business well. Secondly, who would dare challenging Hades or openly flinging mud at his reputation; and last, it would keep him and Liam occupied AND useful to the Emperor. Honestly Liam was doing a poor job as PA. I seriously hope he comes to some conclusions on the stone of punishment. (Poor William)

Very cool, indeed. I don't see why he can't add the blood later - up to now, he has absolutely no idea that he even is shielding. Other vampires don't neccessary see the structure of the shield. Sex for example didn't know about Claudius' first shield until Sasha told him what it was about. Skell needed to provide himself with an armor. And since his shield encompasses the shields of the other brothers, they could be unable to attack it or make out what it is made of. That would partly explain why they couldn't get in to Skell or why Marcus wasn't able to find them and why the brothers weren't able to expand their soul to the point of reaching Marcus. Skell produced sort of a bubble with multiple (?) layers and only Hades beating managed to tear one down. Metal feathers are cool - I love the idea!

Hi Kiix, Are you sure you don't need the Tylenol for yourself? It's chapter 39 of Cinnamon, called 'Carnage'. Hurling over Claudius' shoes was all X, Sex was back with Azrael but before the brothers had a connection to each other. Azrael comments on Sex's emotional state etc. and gives him orders. Maybe I have another dull day. Can they now or not? Guess I have to wait for further chapters. :-) I'm so curious for 'Golden Phoenix' I might be wrong but I think that is because Hades wasn't 'familiy'. He was never close to the brothers and not important enough to make his missteps important to the loyal. You also introduced him as the asshole of the day, he was supposed to act on it. Marcus (as well as Armor) on the contrary had intertwined his soul with Azrael (X); he was supposed to be a back-pillar and as a lover/brother generally NOT to hurt his lover/brothers. In comparison to Hades his guilt is much more heavy. He has a far more bigger impact on them than Hades. Yes, slavery was worst but Sex said it, when the day was over, he could go home etc. With all the hardship out there, betrayal and hurt from inside the pod naturally manages to shake the brothers at its worst. Claudius learns that now. ??? Where should he have them from? Blood-exchange doesn't change the genom. I never wanted him to move up to a Crimson but I think, if you neglect his advancement, he - as a character in C - someday will become too weak to stand beside the brothers, maybe even a character to loose interest in. The emotional implications are nearly exhausted. Any more mad-man fireworks and Marcus becomes implausible. Personally I never was a Marcus fan but the eldest brothers started the whole story and I don't wont them to be left out and at the moment their train leads to a repeat of Liam and Hades history. Now hand me the Tylenol please.

Yeah, it helps. Thank you! BTW, I did not mean to make fun of Vlad and I'm aware of the difference between castration and vasectomy. Theoretically - if done well - it can be undone, so Vlad could have children after all. Surely the Nation, Bruce etc. will make fun of him and call him 'castrate' if rumor about him and Claudia go further. For satisfying X: I don't think so. He loves Claudia in a brotherly way and as the mother of their children but I doubt he cares for Vlad's vasectomy. Anyone doubting the winglets to be his or to mistake a child of Vlad to be his would entirely be for bullying him (in a Britta-like way) and if the children are bullied to be bastards it wouldn't help telling them their mother's lover is neutered. It's the fact itself, that disturbs children; rarely possible siblings. Since they started to play normal family for them, they should care a hell of a lot, the kids don't find out anytime soon. It could be devastating for their confidence etc. All children want to believe in being seeded out of love rather than in a test-tube to save the lineage. As a decision between Vlad and Claudia to prevent pregnancy, vasectomy is acceptable but not for anybody but themselves. Somehow Vlad doesn't strike me as the vasectomy-type. I'm not that surprised they found consolation in each other but I still wonder what happens to them now. Vlad knew, Sex was alive and not gone by his own free will. If there are no sentimental confusions now, I doubt Sex was right with 'lycan-forever'. Interbreeding of bloods. Can a manifested seer, like Lanseng, interbreed too? Would be funny if mediums were seer-descendants.

Hello ATOI, nice to see you here. Since the brothers did something like that pretty often (for example on top of the ferris wheel or one of them is reluctant to meet with the others) and Liam vaguely mentioned it, when he dumped the brothers in the ice-filled tub, I think they can. I hope so. It makes avoiding each other a lot more difficult if you are stuck with each other 24/7. Hm, it was difficult for them to begin with; I thought Armor referred with his sentence only to Marcus ability. It never occured to me he meant them avoiding to join forces. Anyway, they have to work something out. Apparently they improved a little for Marcus wants Azrael to bond with Armor but that could be a favor to the brothers. Otherwise the opportunity is best now. They are closer in character and feelings than anytime before. I hope they get close - like real brothers and be themselves a better support-system. Everybody in V.D. gets boosted but Marcus/Armor so they have to boost themselves. Ah the numb brain, today was hard and long for me too ... See you back here.

Groundhog-day LY 2 I go and have a talk with Liam about Hemlock-poison. Maybe Honeybee can add this to his shield as a spicy welcome to your mysterious shield-drainer. But than there is the slight, or maybe not so slight, possibility of it being Skell. Theoretically all of the brothers, Marcus or Claudius but I have a feeling it will be Skell. Surprise me! Surprise me! Damn it, you just got me hooked for the next 30+ chapters. I'm never going to get rid of the C-addiction Hellcats have big tongues - spares the peeling.

Hi Kiix, you forgot Skell. In the review-section someone wrote Skell being her (?) favourite character. You won't put her off, won't you?
-
Yeah, you won! It's good to be queen ... even a fried queen. Hope the aloe helped with the sunburn. I hope, I get that wrong and it's just a language-problem You aren't actually planning to make someone drink from Hades shield??! Help, I'm giving you ideas about teasing Honeybee! :-) I'm evil enough to look forward to it. Don't tell Liam. See you, Kiba

Sunburn ... poor thing. the quote about Claudius and MArcus - that would be me; I remember that review (in the rants-section). No no no no no :-) Right I really despise that idea and since our last ramblings weren't enough to convince you, I offer another reason why Claudius should not have the mindwalking-ability. An emperor, especially in war-times, can't refrain from practicing and using a weapon such as this. It wouldn't only be unwise but dangerous as well. You could bring up moral issues but Claudius surely didn't earn the title 'black death' or ' pest' by behaving all moral and being an assassin doesn't exactly fall into that category. If you need the mindwalking as a treat of the blue line, than please make it a dormant thing some blues have and others just pass on. Still not convinced ... o-k. I will swallow this pill ... grudgingly ... O.K. That was to be expected but still doesn't explain why they make up shields because I don't see anyone but Marcus and now the brothers, who could extract informations out of their minds and I still don't know how a non-mindwalking vampire finds out his kin in sitations like in the bar with Alarik. Plus the shield can only shield them when out of senses reach. Oh, I'm sorry for creeping you out with the blood-shield-drinking-thing. My evil side admittedly enjoys this. Insignificant creature - me - can do that to you... So how about it, too evil? I humbly bow to you, Your Majesty.
