I do the same on my stories so that readers can see publicly what I tell the other reviewers so that there is no 'he said she said' comments made about VIA mail comments (which I have had a problem with before) I didn't really see anything wrong with it as it's not flaming but saying thanks for the idea...

I'm not going to argue that there are some crossovers that beg to never meet (Twilight / Muppets would be right up there with Sin City / Teletubbies) . . . but a (hopefully, reasonably) talented writer can take two seemingly unrelated sets of books or movies and cross them into something interesting and palatable if they have good writing talent and a proficient imagination. I've actually seen Star Wars crossed with Leave It To Beaver done WELL, but by an extraordinarily talented writer.
Crossovers in general get a terrible wrap because many canon bible beaters think no one has the right to pollute the pristine little imaginary worlds some writer was gracious enough to create for them - gee - that's too bad (and tough shit). I'd much rather see one well done crossover than hmmmm . . . FIVE HUNDRED more Twilight one shot suck faces . . . or FIFTY more Southern Vampire Series Eric / Sookie have the "talk" scenerios . . . or any more poorly written Haldir / Glorfindel / insert favorite elf's name here fucked someone up the ass slash that was attempted by someone who's probably never had sex before and wouldn't honestly know what a realistic orgasm or a well described blow job was if they were given a lifetime subscription to a porn channel B)
I personally like crossovers, and I'm not ashamed to say that. I read them - and I write them - and I write them about vampires too, although MY vampires are real bloodsucking disembowling types who do NOT sparkle - ever. (Perhaps in my next crossover I'll send some over to the meet up with the sparkley ones . . . bet I could stop that scintillating nonsense!)
I agree. A truly talented writer can find some way to join the two crossovers. As the saying goes, where there's a will there's a way. Now, Just because I think it CAN be tastefully done, does not mean I think that ANY crossovers should be done by a novice writer that can not articulate the details efficiently and has not ironed out the details of HOW the cross over works.

I'd have to say that one of these stories would annoy me due to lack of description and content. Yes I can see how it could be a challenge for a writer...but that only gets them to learn to write sloppily in my opinion.

Hey All,
I just wanted to consult with some oher authors about Yaoi standards in Original fiction and even in fanfiction.
1. There is a tendency in a lot of fiction for the uke to suddenly become a woman with a penis. (Example: over exaggerating of slenderness, long lashes etc.)
a) How do you combat this in your writing?
B) How do you deal with it in other people's writing?
2. The use of rape as a way to get a straight man to become gay.
a)what the hell is with the overuse and quick brush over with rape? It's a tramatic experience not a segway to gay sex.
b)what are your ways of easing 'non-gay' characters into homoerotic situations?
c)what do you think are some of the biggest problems with these scenarios?
Well, in order...
1a) I seldom write yaoi scenes, but when I do I keep in mind that, just because they are having a homoerotic moment there is NOTHING else different. Gay people are like everyone else, all shapes and sizes. Then I look over at my friends brother (who is gay) and realize that the 'skinny girly' yaoi is way overdone. However if they are trying to do a 'feminization' item then all that is good lol.
1b) I usually ignore it in others writings. Their styles and thoughts are their own. If I had a problem with it, I'd simply stop reading and leave a review telling them why I stopped reading.
2a) A lot of writers see it in anime and other movies and don't realize how traumatic these scenarios can be. However, with some writers they take that into account and make the person go made later in a story.
2b) I ease my char's into the homoerotic situations as I would with a straight situation: passion, embarrassment and pure curiosity.
2c) I don't see to much wrong with these scenarios, as I said to each their own and if they don't want to read about it, they wouldn't be or would just stop reading.

I have 3 stories with 25,000+ hits but less then 60 reviews. Personally if they are reading it and coming back the hits are going up that's good enough for me lol.

First you should calm down and take a deep breath...unless you live in new york then put a gas mask on first. I know it can be annoying at times, but your story might not have been deleted, it might have just been hidden if it had improper disclaimers on it.
