I don’t read as much as I used to. I try to keep my ideas mine, that way. Every author likes to know how well they’re doing but I understand there are authors out there that can’t take constructive criticism. I always try to reply swiftly and politely, to mine. Cheers!

I have been wondering the same thing. I just posted a few chapters of my newest fic, a Cold Case fic, and have 141 prints but no reviews. Is the button broken or something???What’s going on??? Should I stop posting it??? And there’s no kudos. How do we know they didn’t just click on it and move on?

How do you know that someone big company has already stolen from you
SisterWine replied to a topic in Plagiarism
If you copyright your work, you should be fine. I’ve already had a piece stolen from me and put up on Kindle. I managed to get it removed but the damage is done. Another idea to keep it yours would be, to write it with a heading of “Don’t Plagiarize. ” Or, if you finish it, don’t post the final chapter. Or, complete it, print it, and mail it to yourself with a completed date on it. The postage mark acts as a copyright date and seal. It will hold up in court. -
Thank you, BronxWench. I will keep you apprised of what I find out. I really dont want to take them down but if worse comes to worse..... Thank you again.

I have been seriously thinking of pulling all of my fics but that would defeat my purpose of doing this for enjoyment. I am working on getting copyrights to my works but even then, the problem is still possible. I love my readers and their input but I am tired of being a statistic.

Thank you. I'm not asking for an easy fix and I understand there is not much anyone can do. All I know of him is his name is Viktor ilchencko and the story was stolen Sept 18 of last year. Again, Amazon did remove it and some of his other works. I am asking you, wwomb and AO3, where I think he got it but I'm not sure. Thank you. SW

Certainly you may have my permission. I welcome any and all help and input. Thank you. SW

I had a reader on another site alert me to a theft of my story, located here and two other sites. The reader told me that my fic was on Kindle, for sale, and I didn’t put it there. ALL three sites I have placed a copyright date on my original fics. Thankfully, Amazon saw it my way and removed my story. I don’t know if the thief is here or on either of the other two sites so I am hesitant to finish my other originals or any story. Is there a way to prevent someone from dl/copying a story on this site? If there isn’t, support team might want to work on that. Thank you.

Oh thank you! These are wonderful! I’ve only found a few but no close ups of people and what they wore. I love the Victorian/Edwardian era.

Thank you.

I am writing a fic that includes historic sights and people of 1904/5 in and around Boston, Mass. and Denver Colorado. I have been to Wikipedia and google searches but I need to know the feeling of those places. Are their any films I could or nostalgia sites to look up that would help better? Also, I need to know American mannerisms of the wealthy, from Boston. Thank you. SisterWine

When I logged on last night, it was fine. I restart my computer from another upload and check in on AFF, I was signed out and the display with Profile, Penname and Control Panel vanished. The “log in” was a drop down on the Home, Latest, etc. bar…. Was this an update? Where did everything go? Why wasn’t it in the news bits? And, coincidentally, I can’t access the news links, either. What the deuce? SisterWine

Ta, Xenobia! I am glad I am not alone in thinking I am crazy about the disclaimers. Again, I really hate plagerists. So, I tend to agree with you there. However.... the way the reminder messages are phrased make it seem like the authors simply tacked on this "Don't own 'em, don't care to" type of disclaimer, and those that have extensive disclaimers (as having multiple things to disclaim) end up putting them in the top of the story due to only having such small chars to do it in. That was the case with "Learning To Live Again". I do appreciate your mods work, and it is very tedious indeed. I am just upset that I felt the disclaimer that I have placed belief in seemed to have failed someone's expectations. I would not think an already made disclaimer would fit my fictions. I am merely suggesting a bigger box to disclaim in. Thank you.

Thank you, Melrick. I appreciate your answer to my question. I shall correct the disclaimers.

I am a little upset for the two times that I have posted my newest fics here. I have been on this database for a few years now, and have not said a bad word toward anyone; however, this time I'm going to have to speak up. About the new "Disclaimer Watch List" I really must ask if the mods actually look at the fic content themselves? My two most recent fics have both been asked to decline the notion that I own the characters I am writing about. My thoughts on plagerists-- do NOT get me started. I don't mean to be a brat but I HAVE disclaimed and denied owning any of the Marvel characters. My ONLY character that I DO own is Rhythm Mackensie LeBeau. She is my own creation. I don't like lawsuits or plagerists, or claiming something is mine when it's not. I am simply asking that the mods/owner look more closely at the stories/disclaimers that some authors are using. Read them carefully. I make it a point to place a disclaimer on things that do not belong to me and am very strongly awarded things that do (ie. Rhythm). If possible, could you extend the disclaimer field to involve more than 240 chars? Some of us have a lot to disclaim. I am not unreasonable, and have changed both fics to read more clearly of who owns what. I would just appreciate it if I was more formally addressed of the problem. Personally, I own my own Logan/Remy Slash Group on yahoo and I am very into the disclaimers and such. This may sound like a rant or a flame but it's not. I am merely voicing my opinion about the disclaimer issue. Please speak to me personally, next time. Thank you.
