instead of calling in his Death Eaters to show them his return and regain their loyalties as was the original plan, Voldemort is instead left floundering as he tries to figure out how this happened, he takes an extremely confused fem!harry back to his Manor and the following day drags her to Gringotts silenced, disguised and attached to a magical leash forcing her to remain within close proximity to him,

The Goblins explain that during the attack on Godrics Hollow a part of Voldemorts Magic and Soul became entwined with Fem!Harry (much to both their Horror) essentially making her his Magical Heiress and granting her the Parseltongue ability, however she would be unable to continue the Line due to not actually having any Slytherin Blood, likewise, Voldemort has the Potter Blood running through his veins now but not the Potter Magiks thus granting him the title of Regent Potter untill Fem!Harry produces an heir to become the new Lord

Blood + Magic = True Heir/Heiress (able to claim lordship, Children are Legitmate)
Blood alone = Regent/Steward (unable to claim lordship, Children are not Legitimate)
Magiks Alone = Magical Heir/Heiress (Can to claim lordship, Children are not Legitimate)

Voldemort knowing he can no longer kill or harm her now that she is protected by family Magiks and containing a part of his Soul becomes increasingly confused about the Prophecy and how it can even make sense and becomes determined to get it is as soon as possible before paling in Horror as it suddenly hits home that He, The Greatest and Most Feared Dark Lord in Recent History is now stuck raising a Teenage Girl as she goes through puberty
