Canon up untill Pein attacks Konoha,

Nagato doesn’t have enough Chakra left at the end of their fight to revive everyone killed in the destruction of Konoha leading to massively different changes in the Naruto’verse, with people such as Kakashi and Shizune dead there was no-one offer as a viable alternative to Danzo taking the role as Hokage, Tsunade would still be in her coma but without the majority of her allies to protect her would be left vulnerable to being removed permanantly,

Sasuke would still be labelled as a Missing-Nin with a kill on sight order now applied after learning he is working for the very group that just leveled the Village, Sakura witth no Master would no longer be classed as an apprentice and be sent back into the regular rank & file or permanently stationed at the Hospital instead of Team 7 whilst Naruto would be forced to undergo strict training in order to harness his Jinchuuriki powers by force if necessary or risk being labelled as a traitor to Konoha,

The knowledge being released to the public that Pein only attacked Konoha to get to Naruto in the first place ultimately destroys any goodwill he may have garnered from the populace during his Shinobi Career and causes his friends and trusted ones to turn on him, turning their backs or just watching on when they see Villagers cursing him, throwing rocks/bottles at him, denying him entry to restaurants and shops or even vandalizing his property leading him to become bitter and jaded as he is forced to actually face the harsh truth that he will never truly be welcomed in Konoha no matter how hard he tries or accomplishes as it will always be second in their minds to his status as a Jinchuuriki and thus the target of their Hatred

Surprisingly the one who doesn’t turn her back on him is Yamanaka Ino, who is placed into the ROOT Training right alongside him due to her exceedingly powerful skill with her Yamanaka Bloodline (no idea if it is a Bloodline but im calling it one) over time they develop feelings for another but decide to keep their relationship hidden from the outside world in order to protect themselves from the backlash

Sakura follows Canon & confronts Sasuke after he attacks the go-kage summit and kills Danzo only to be left for dead by Sasuke due to there being no interference by Kakashi (Dead) or Naruto (Imprisoned in Konoha undergoing ROOT Training) resulting in her bleeding out and dying long before anyone notices she is missing

These events (and whatever the writer chooses to add on) ultimately culminate in a more Brutal, Darker & Unforgiving Naruto fighting in the 4^th Shinobi War against Obito and Madara who are able to rip Kyuubi out of him during the fight, resulting in Naruto dying on the battlefield only to wake up on a white plain sitting next to the Shinigami

The Shinigami explains to him that the seal keeping Kurama contained was powered by the God of Death Itself so therefore only she can de-power it to allow Kurama out, due to Obito and Madara forcibly tearing the seal apart however they unknowingly broke the tenants of the contract made when the seal was fashiioned, this means she is now able to directly intervene and is doing so, by sending Naruto’s Soul & Memories back to when the contract was first implemented, the night of the Kyuubi Attack

Warning this is not a Naruto-goes-back-and redeems-all-the-villians-and-lives-happily-ever-after fic, getting kind of sick of those tbh,

This is a very pissed off, very human Naruto who is sick and tired of having to bear the burdens of everyone elses bullshit and no longer sees the point in attempting to try doing so anymore, he will not be overpowered or godlike, but he will be strong for his peer group and most importantly smart about it (not Nara IQ)

in Canon Naruto was sabotaged at the Academy hence never knowing the Basic Fundamentals, Theories or information that the rest of the Genin were given leading him to look stupid most the time, This Naruto however underwent ROOT Training where he will have been forcibly taught all of that and then some, he will not have access to moves right off the bat but steadily grow into them as he ages and trains himself up, so no mastering sage mode before he is even 10 years old etc
