[Guest Forgotten_Prophecy]

Intended as a either an Expanded Potter Universe or crossover of the Writers choice, enjoy

 

Voldemort is somewhat smarter in this story and grabs the entire prophecy from the DoM before his fall at the hands of Lily/Harry Potter,

he informs his inner circle of the contents of said prophecy i.e Bellatrix, Lucius and most importantly for the story Bart Crouch Jnr.

despite knowing the prophecy it still doesn’t prevent events going ahead as they do in canon with minor changes here and there untill we get to the Graveyard scene in GoF.

upon arrival both Harry and Cedric are somewhat disorientated by the unexpected Portkey leaving Pettigrew enough time to fire off an AK to get rid of the “spare” however this time Harry manages to push Cedric out of the way of the spell only to get hit by it himself, Cedric horrified by the fact The-Boy-Who-Lived just died saving his life immediately panics when the caster of the spell is essentially liquified by the (currently unknown) magical backlash between the horcrux in Harrys head being destroyed and the main Soul of Voldemort currently resting in Pettigrews arms, as such he quickly grabs the portkey and runs for his life leaving Harry in the graveyard.

Due to dumbledore still being alive at this point he is instead met with his Mother, Lily, at the pathway between life and death only to be told off for practically throwing his life away on a semi-crusade at the wishes of people who refuse to stand up and fight for themselves anymore, followed by usual touchy feely stuff before Lily tells him that she gave her own life to save him not Wizarding Britain, so despite the way they act he doesn’t owe them a single thing and she would be proud of him no matter what he chooses to do with his life

upon awakening back in the real world however Harry discovers its already morning and with no idea where he is or what happened to anyone else attempts to find a way to contact the wizarding world for help, after several days of travel through the muggle world (mostly due to lack of muggle money) he finally finds a copy of the daily prophet publically claiming both his death, Voldemorts return and the prophecy stating how Harry was the only one capable of defeating him and has now failed them all

as it turns out after Cedric arrived back at hogwarts screaming about Harry being dead, Barty Crouch Jnr disguised as Moody attempted to whisk him away only to be phsyically attacked by Amos Diggory who refused to let his son out of his sight, this leads to Barty being revealed to be an imposter, who upon being discovered open fires on the crowd loudly and publically laughing at how easy it was to turn them everyone against Potter simply by putting his name in the Goblet of Fire before taunting Albus with the Prophecy untill he is eventually taken down.

Harry now realizing that once again everyone has turned on him despite believing him to be dead finally understands that his mother was right & that fighting for Wizarding Britain is essentially a futile gesture that will only end in misery for him. after taking a few days Harry soon acknowledges that he now literally has the whole world at his fingertips and for once, there is nothing stopping him from taking it
