Turning the tables

We all know that Zero no Tsukaima is terrible about over-the-top violence "for laughs," and that Louise is a petty bitch who takes out her frustrations over her own inadequacies on those she has power over.

For this, Louise takes a different approach to her punishments. After all, Saito is her familiar, and if he's too injured to serve her, what's the point? So instead of a bull whip or any of her other normal punishments, she starts doing other things, things she doesn't see as anything more than training a pet. He's expected to do the little chores, of course, dressing/undressing her, seeing to her laundry, cleaning her room, washing her back and hair, etc. But she's also prone to doing other things, like using him as furniture and making him kiss her feet. That quickly becomes a favorite of hers, to come in at the end of the day, take her shoes off, and have Saito first lick the sweaty bottoms of her stockings before pulling them off and licking her feet "clean."

Properly trained with small amounts of affection, Saito makes for a very good pet. But he does make mistakes sometimes, and what can Louise do then? Luckily, she half-remembers a story about training dogs, something about shoving their faces in urine and feces. The first time Saito really screws up, he gets dragged into his master's washroom that night, and she squats over his face and uses his mouth as a toilet. Needless to say, he plans to never screw up like that again, but Louise noticed something while this was going on: him licking her clean felt good. But she's too proud to admit that she enjoyed that and wants him to lick her again, so instead she fabricates reasons to punish him a few more times before giving in and just ordering him to lick her ass and pussy. That soon becomes part of the new routine: when Louise strips for bed at night, he licks her (she's insistent that it's not oral sex because that implies Saito is a person) and, if he's been good all day and does a good job, she'll step on him (give him a footjob).

Louise also finds out that some of her classmates are willing or even eager to borrow her familiar, so she begins renting him out, with the basic policies of "don't leave any marks or damage him" and "don't ask, don't tell". Montmorency is actually a frequent customer, due to her constant stress over Guiche's womanizing. Kirche infrequently enjoys the chance to have absolute dominance over someone, as well as having someone willing to do anything. Tabitha even indulges, but her requests are always simple: company, an ear that won't tell anyone, and a few times just to have someone to hold her and tell her things are alright.

Outside of his service, during the free time Louise gives him, she doesn't really care what he does as long as it doesn't reflect negatively on her, and he becomes with Siesta, who is torn on how to treat him. On the one hand, technically he's a familiar and therefore an animal and lower than her, a position no man has ever been in before; on the other, he's a person and in some ways he gets treated worse than her and the other servants. Once they speak, though, she realizes he really does have a submissive streak, she kind of takes advantage. As does her cousin Jessica, who she told about Saito, when he and Louise wind up at the inn. Of course, when she visits, Henrietta gets full service without question, and she later offers and insists Agnes likewise indulge. Even Louise's sisters wind up treating Saito like that, once they show up, though Cattleya treats him more like a beloved pet than one meant to serve.

Then the war happens, Saito makes his noble sacrifice and gets saved by Tiffania. Except he died enough that the runes disappeared. And as we know from later volumes, the runes had brainwashed him into being loyal and subservient to his master, but that's gone now, and what's left is anger and resentment for his treatment, with not a lot of room left for logic or fairness.

Tiffania finds out the hard way, as she went to check on Saito while he was at the highest point of stewing in his anger over how he'd been treated. After taking his immediate frustration out on the big-breasted elf and all of her holes, he decided that, even if it killed him, he'd get revenge on the people who'd treated him like that, and show them that he's no one's dog. Of course, he'll save Louise for last, to show her and let it sink into her head that now he's in control. Saito returns to the school, with Tiffania in tow, as she's become hentai-addicted to his dick.

Siesta goes first, as she's the easiest; after all, who is going to listen to the commoner maid claiming that a noble's familiar raped her? Then Kirche, as she had the misfortune of being the first customer to take advantage of Saito's return. Montmorency soon joins the club. Tabitha will be spared, as she never took or asked for more than what you would give a friend. Though, if she finds out, she might want to be involved.

The rest must wait for an opportunity, but those come. Henrietta takes time to speak with Saito alone, as a Chevalier. Then she calls Agnes, who gets ambushed. Louise's sisters think she wanted them to visit her. Jessica comes to see her cousin.

Why do they all stay quiet? Tiffania is naive, thinks it's love, and is addicted to it. Kirche burns with shame that he was able to so utterly dominate her and make her beg. Siesta and Jessica are plain afraid of what Saito could and might do. Montmorency is straight up NTR'd, as she realizes that Saito is less annoyance than Guiche, and she really gets off on the sex. Agnes keeps quiet for her queen, who does so because she feels indebted and is genuinely fond of Saito. Eleonore is in much the same boat as Kirche, while Cattleya is like Tiffania.

Finally, one night, Louise expects the usual routine, only for Saito to pin her down and rape her the whole night. Come morning, one of the others comes in and she expects help, only for them to defer to Saito. By the time all is said and done, the role of master and servant have completely reversed.

For happy ending, Kirche returns to Germania and moves on with her life. Jessica returned home to take over her father's inn, and a year later was seen with a child that might or might not be Saito's. Eleonore and Cattleya return home, where Cattleya has a child 9 months later that is taken as her parents' heir. Montmorency does go back to Guiche, becoming more tolerant of his womanizing only because he doesn't know she's having more sex with Saito than with him, and that there was a reason she was relieved "their" child was blond. Agnes continues her work as her queen's knight, occasionally thinking about what she wants to do with her life if she lives long enough to retire.

Tabitha takes over as queen of Gallia, with Saito willingly following her, as he did develop an interest in the servitude he performed under the runes and she's the only one he trusts to serve. Siesta and Tiffania followed, as his maid and unofficial mistress respectively. Tabitha's sister becomes Gallia's Void mage and contracts Sheffield, and they both wind up under tight control by Tabitha and Saito. Louise is brought in as Henrietta's heir-apparent, but Louise remains utterly broken to Saito's will, while Henrietta chooses to obey him.

End result: Saito and Tabitha happily married, ruling Gallia, with Tiffania as a happy consort gladly bearing and nursing his children. Siesta still getting it regularly from her master, eventually having a twisted version of her happy family vision. Sheffield and Josette regularly getting some, with Saito getting the twin threesome all men dream of at some point and being directed to impregnate Josette at some point. Henrietta sitting on the throne with his bastard child in her womb, while Louise is next in line in the same condition. And Montmorency is still regularly seeing Saito while Guiche unknowingly raises another man's child as his own.

Others that no ready inspiration came for, but could be added in include Sylphid, Tabitha's mother and cousin, Henrietta's mother, and Louise's mother.
