I think I've already posted a few requests over the past few months on various websites, but had never received a reply. I'm starting to lose all hopes because ten years ago - when I started writing fan-fiction - beta-readers seemed to swarm the internet, but now I just can't seem able to find one.. But let me tell you something about me first. So you can decide if beta-readers are avoiding me for a reason or not.. My name is Ely-Baby and I've been writing English fan-fiction for the fandom of Harry Potter since I was 18 (10 long years ago). I'm not an English mother-tongue, my first language is Italian. Still, I do believe that my English is not that bad...To be honest, I think my biggest weakness could be some awkward wording sequence every now and then, and some grammatical errors. My spelling is quite good, thanks to Word. And I don't usually need help with the plot or characterization, but I like to hear what my beta-reader thinks about my story. At this very moment I need help with a 12,000-word one-shot. It is part of my series, The Seven Deadly Sins, and it's titled "Pride". It's a Pansy/Draco, post-Hogwarts story with a bit of angst and a bit of romance. There are four NC-17 scenes, all of them are het. Still, I have to tell you that the stories that I've published here on AdultFanFiction had been written six years ago, while this one is brand new - hence, my writing style is slightly different. Hopefully, I improved a bit.I am also currently writing a sequel to "Pride", but that's a multi-chaptered story and it's not finished yet. I have another story that I published on FF.Net which is called "Not Now Nor Never" (don't mind my forced alliteration), that I really love but I can't even look at it for I cringe every time I see all the grammar and wording mistakes I made. I would love if a beta could finally proof-read that for me (it's an extremely dramatic story, that contains cousincest (Rose/James Sirius), teen pregnancy and has a major character death. There's a bit of smut, but not too much. I will also write the remaining three installments of my series at some point in the future, but I haven't decided when just yet. Also, I have story on HarryPotterFanFiction - a novel length - whose last four chapters need to be beta-read before I can post them.Okay, I didn't want to scare you off with this list, but I just wanted to let you know what kind of stories I write and need help with. You don't need to help me with all of them, if there's one that caught your eye I'm more than happy to have help for at least one of them. Title: But Thy Eternal Summer Shall Not Fade Pairing: Hermione/Harry; Hermione/Ron; Hermione/Draco Rating: M Genre: Adventure, Drama, Romance Word Count: 150,000 (only about 30,000 need to be beta-read) Summary: Harry, Ron and Hermione travel to Godric's Hollow in the summer after sixth year, their last stop before the Horcrux hunt begins. But when a wounded Draco Malfoy arrives, everything and everyone changes. No one is quite himself, good melts into evil, and the thin line between love and else is crossed more than once. Status: WIP Link: N/A - Unpublished Author's Notes: Sequel to "Pride". I'm working on this right now. It's going to be about 14 chapters long, quite dark and very emotional. Absolutely canon, though, Draco is married to Astoria, there's Scorpius, Ron is an Auror.. I think I need a long-term beta-reader. I don't need someone who is quick - I'm well past that stage where you just want to post chapter after chapter - but someone who is willing to beta-read sporadically (unless I'm posting a multi-chaptered story, but still I am happy to let a beta-reader take all the time he/she needs) and that I can go back to with a new story every now and then (if she likes my new story naturally).
