Giving this a shot. Hello and thank you for your interest I'm Xythe and as you already know I'm in need of a long term beta. My writing has been one lonely road for a long time, but it's growing more and more difficult to continue it mostly alone. I've had two wonderful people who are/was helping me, but RL gets in the way of them helping me as often as I'd like or need so I'm searching for another one who can offer me some more help. What do I mean by long term? I am looking for someone who would be interested to beta more than one work (although not necessarily multiple works at the same time). I'm working on an expansive, more or less interrelated set of works and it would be awesome for someone to give out opinions (both in the work itself and some stuff on the side, like worldbuilding) and generally help me with planning/plotting out stuff as well as generally looking over my works. What I would require of my betas are the following: presence, honesty, the simple desire to be of help and a lack of a lot squicks. I am aware that you may not be able to be there all the time, although if you're mostly online it would be great help especially since I am in the GMT+8 Timezone. Honesty is important too. I like to believe I take concrit well and see it as a venue of improvement and I do value good solid input. Also, since I am building an expansive fantasy world, I am highly protective of my work. I need to know you can be trusted not to steal any of my ideas/writing. And then I see help in a number of different ways, such as pointing out inconsistencies, suggesting things in order to improve the richness of the plot or to get the narrative moving. As for the last one, I will say now that I have very little squicks. If I could get away with it, I'd be writing a lot of sex and aside from toilet play, I shy away from very few kinks. I may have incestuous relationships in my stories and I am seriously considering some form of bestiality sometime in the future. I enjoy violence, gore and a lot of blood and there could be a lot of swearing in my works. It would be wonderful if I could have a beta that I wouldn't have to censor myself for. Traits that are not required, but are a plus: knowledge of worldbuilding, strong grammar skills and generally amiable personality. I worldbuild heavily and inputs and opinions on those matters would be well received. As for grammar, I consider myself good enough but sometimes I fall short while writing so having someone to help with that would be very awesome. And as for generally amiable personality, of course I'm nice when you're nice and I like to talk a lot, so it'd be nice if we could get along outside of writing and business in general. As a last note: I am willing to reciprocate, although editing would be fuzzy because I may not be very good at it. Any inputs or such though, I would be good for... just as long as it's almost the same as what I write... which is M/M Slash Fantasy. XD; Eheh. Aaand I think that's it. That sounds so terrible D: I wouldn't even know what to do afterwards if ever that had happened to me. Maybe before you have your computer reformatted you can ask whoever's fixing it to do something to your hard drive called a partition. It divides your hard drive into two, creating a local space for Windows system to run and another half for your files. O: It's not fool proof, but a little safer. You can also just archive (.zip, although it doesn't minimize the filesize at all .rar or even .7z is much better) your whole stuff and email them to yourself if they aren't too big. O: Key drives are also useful but be wary about putting them in any other computer but your own, especially public ones. A lot of viruses can be transferred just because you popped it in another computer. I've had a virus in my key drive where all my folders turned into executable files (.exe) and it was a pain that I could only have gotten rid of by reformatting the whole thing and losing all my files. :|

I don't think it's either one or the other. Both are factors that come into play. I believe being mentally ready is more important than being physically so though. I always thought that the mind could influence the body more than the other way around. Besides, 15 is hardly very young. :| In the olden times, people were getting married at 13 and so... and the kids of today, well...

And finally, some news: I'm glad to announce that someone has graciously volunteered to beta TMPatT and all chapters that are out are being edited. I have made extensive revisions to Chapter 1 with a handful of new characters and some new insights. There are some minor grammar errors to Chapter 2 and the rest are still pending. These chapters are not out yet, Chapter 1 is going through second editing. XD Chapter 2 revised will be posted along with Chapter 1 revised. I also want to announce that because of the edits, there will be slight delay to new chapters. Slight and even less if there won't be any major revisions to be done with the other chapters.

Author Notes Chapter VI And that's it. A big thank you to everyone who has been reading, rating and reviewing! This chapter took awhile, because of a little side project, but it's here now! Next chapter, Eli discusses things further. Heheh. Chapter VII I remember having a blast writing this chapter, to the point that the narration may sound a little silly and a little off-beat, but it's just too much fun to see both Xile and Elias in the morning, especially when they're bantering. Neither are very good after just waking up. Normally, it takes awhile for Xile to actually get up and Elias is just used to to it because of "the demands of mercantile life" but actually would enjoy being lazy in the mornings too. XD; Past Reviewer Replies Chapter III Loves to laugh: Glad you still enjoy the work even if it's tweaked a bit! JJ: My pleasure! Happy to find that Elias comes across as the ice prince he is. XD; As for the pronunciation of their names, there's a list below. Chapter IV JJ: Glad the pronunciation guides were of help! I'll add more to the future as more names pop out. I'm glad to hear I was able to write out Xile's wolf perspective properly. Mithyen's care for the wolf is just part of her sweet and loving personality <3 xD it's a nice contrast to Elias' cold demeanor, at least in the early chapters. And Elias is figuring out things quite well, but for now he hasn't nailed it yet! Soon though, hehe! Chapter V Kylee: I do hope this would be just as funny, as my co-writer was the one putting in all the humor. Certainly it has a more serious tone to it this time around, now that I'm the one writing it. XD; But hopefully it would still be a little humorous. JJ: As always, my pleasure . Xile's handy that way, since mages of his sort usually are highly educated in many different areas of magick. Glad the plants were amusing XDD; they were fun to name! XD And as for what exactly Elias will do now that he is quite sure what Xile is will be revealed next chapter! ;D Curiosity101: He found out! It's quite a subtle way though. What's fun is seeing what he'll do to Xile. Chapter VI JJ: My pleasure as always! And this is what happened! I'm glad you like Xile's full name. It's an alias, so I haven't really thought about it and just changed it just moments before uploading Ch06. And, yes, Elias is quite mean XD he's a master of coercion and manipulation. He didn't get the recognition he has by simply playing nice. Also, Xile's nil-boxes are the niftiest things, but luckily Xile is wary of using them because of the Hands of Sorviels, otherwise he'd have loads of things at his disposal and it just wouldn't be as fun ) Hehe. It has several inland neighboring countries Perionvira (Capital City): Pehryon-vee-rah Capital city of Rozascia where the seat of power resides. Divided into several districts. Drantheia (Valley and Mountain Range): Drahn-they-ya A wide valley that leads to Perionvira to the north and the city of Alderdra to the south. The mountains are situated to the west. Arvealian (Mountain Range): Ahr-veh-al-yan Mountains to the east. There is a road here that makes travel time to Perionvira much shorter, although the route is more perilous. The Merchant Prince and the Thief Because the site is apparently having a tough time with the database and are making efforts in order to minimize the strain on it, I've decided to follow their advice to other members with lengthy author notes and reviewer replies, like me. Also, I believe that having a thread here would make it easier for me to reach out to readers when certain things come up. To get reviews like that always leaves me wanting, like I want to know what parts were awesome? But then again it's always better than silence or a silent five rating. When I'm looking for other stuff to read though, the number of those 5+ kind of helps, but I ultimately just go and read the summary and the first few chapters and decide for myself. If I like it, I review and rate, just to show my love. IMO the problem is the ratings just show up as +, if it were in decimals it'd be a little more diverse than just the number of +'s. XD It would even help if it were to show up as a mere +/-, although the abuse of such systems would be spectacular for those who just down rate for the hell of it. :|
