I've put a fic in the main archive called "Blackfire's Redemption". (Far more appropriate would be Blackfire's Breakthrough...) It's just a TINY scene in this mega-crossover fic I'm writing, and you'll have a summary when I copy-past the fic in the archive here. My problem, is that I have/had 2 ideas for the scene, and while the latest version seems to "Flow" better to me, I'd like some 2nd opinions. So I put it to y'all to please assist me in telling me whether my latest form of Blackfire's tearful re-building of her and Starfire's relationship is better than the previous version, or Vice Versa. Or, hell, even if they both suck-ass through a crazy straw. ------------------------------------------ This story...is a scene from a mega-crossover fanfic that I have been visualizing since ~2002, but have never put into any sort of written format, mostly due to me confusing low self-esteem with a realization of my own limits. One day I will finish writing the first couple of chapters to this point, but until then I'll put this one scene here. All inspiration for this idea came simply from a song that I will provide a link to at the end of the story. Fair warning though, the first (and second, and third and etc) times I heard the song, I started crying so make sure you're not in a location where people are eager to render judgement for such things. The set-up to this story is simple: Gigantic multiverse observatory, filled with computer and paper archives of heroes who have done great things across countless worlds. (IE, Imagine going into a Manga/Anime/Comic book store, except all the things on the shelves are events from alternate universes, not fiction.) One day, the observatory system for recording information turns on it's care-takers, who simply call themselves The Custodians (Made up entirely of people who had died and were brought back to life for the purpose of "managing" this colossal archive, most of them OC) and the existence of these custodians, as well as alternate universes and the heroes within became VERY public knowledge. Sometime after the Custodians have adjusted to having occasional scrutiny across the whole of existence, and have added some members to their ranks, (NOT people who died and were resurrected) Starfire of the Teen Titans is contacted by her wicked older sister Blackfire. Blackfire's powers have completely disappeared, and she has no idea why. She asked her little sister for help getting to the Observatory to find a solution there. Starfire agrees, and acts as a chaperone for her sister while the Custodians decide that Blackfire would be allowed to stay provisionally until such a cure was found. The only clue to go off of was that Blackfire's powers shorted out soon after becoming privy to a personal conversation between a pair of Custodians, a newcomer named Ranma Saotome (Ranma 1/2), and the other a supposed Demon Lord who goes by the Nickname of "Tattoo" (Original Character, but flagrantly inspired by the setting/tone of "Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne" where the world ends and becomes a New Hell and the protaganist becomes a Demon) Starfire returns to Jump City to find that her decision to help her sister had been broadcast to the other Titans (along with everyone else), who cast doubt on Blackfire's malady and warn Starfire that the Custodians have proven themselves more than willing to use lethal force. Starfire returns to the library, distrustful of her sisters story, but also fearing for her safety. By the time Starfire returns, it's early evening, and Blackfire has snuck into the deepest level of the library with the Observatory equivalent of a flash drive. Tattoo prevents Starfire from confronting her sister and tells her to simply observe as "She has some things she needs to figure out...and so do you." ------------------------- Starfire returned to her vigil of the viewing room that her sister had occupied, in a far off corner of basement 14, clearly looking for privacy. Blackfire had the bead in its place and a pair of headphones over her ears. Starfire watched, wishing she could hear whatever Blackfire was listening to, as her sister placed her hands on the sides of the control console. Whatever it was, it wasnt an archived recording as there would have been a visual that Starfire would have seen. She wondered what it could be as her sisters head lowered slightly. A medical report, or maybe she was looking for a way to make herself stronger like the jewel of Charta? Starfires musings thoughts were interrupted by a sound. Blackfires back...shook, and a strange choking noise came from her. Starfire couldnt see her sisters face, but thought that something must be wrong, and despite Tattoos demand for her silent observation, she stepped into the open doorway and called out to her sister Blackfire? Blackfire jerked up and whipped her head around, staring at Starfire for a brief moment before cursing and pulling the earpieces away from her head and hitting a button on the viewing rooms console. The darkness of the viewing room had somewhat masked Blackfires expression when she spotted her sister spying on her. Now she turned around and stalked angrily towards the door, her head lowered so that her bangs covered her eyes and only her mouth which was twisted into an angry grimace was visible. Starfire didnt have a chance to speak as her sister harshly barked What are you still doing here Starfire?! and made to push past her sister. It was only an instant. A very brief glance as Blackfire entered the lit main room of the library basement as she pushed past Starfire, but it widened Starfires eyes and made her reach out and grab her sister by the wrist before she managed to get away. Blackfire stopped and whirled to glare angrily at Starfire, but thats all she needed as Starfire looked her sister full in the face and saw something impossible. Blackfire was crying. It was slight, but there were clearly 2 trickles running down her cheeks from her reddened and watery eyes. Starfires shock was apparent and Blackfire cursed again, yanking her hand out of the red-heads grip. Sister! Whats wrong? Starfires voice betrayed her worry as her big sister angrily snapped Its nothing! Why are you still here? and rubbed her hand across her eye, destroying the evidence of her water-works. Its not nothing! What happened? Blackfire switched to her other eye and wiped away her tear tracks, asking bitterly Why do you care? with a slight glare. Starfires hurt expression came with a simple response Youre my sister. Blackfires glare lasted only a few moments before looking away, unable to look Starfire in her saddened green eyes. She was still scowling as she said The viewer yesterday showed Tattoo listening to a song, which I heard, and after that I was shown his life from before his world ended. Starfires hurt expression faded as she processed this new information. But what about Tattoos conversation with Ranma about his brothers? That was after I was shown what Tattoo was like when he was just a human. Blackfire turned back to look at her sister I was shown what really happened between him and his brothers, and while he told Ranma a bit, I got all of the dirty details on what they did to him. Blackfire smirked sardonically It was pretty nasty, but Ive done worse though. "You should not be proud of that, Sister." Starfire admonished, which made Blackfire roll her eyes. "Why didn't you say this during the meeting?" "You mean my 'trial'?" Blackfire spat the word trial, and unusually for her, answered her sisters question honestly. "I thought of they decided to throw me out I could use what I knew about Tattoo to make him convince the others to let me stay." The scandalized expression on Starfires face spoke volumes more than her outcry "Blackfire!" Blackfire yelled right back at Starfire "Well it doesn't matter! I'm here now, and they knew about what I saw anyway!" "What?" Starfires surprise had a slight calming effect on her voice "How?" Blackfire shook her head slightly "They can't control the viewer system completely but they can sure as hell figure out when and where things are added to the archives or when parts of those records are being accessed. Tattoo came to my room little after you left and..." Blackfires voice trailed off and Starfire looked at her wicked sister curiously. Blackfire had looked at her as she mentioned a talk with Tattoo, and Starfire saw her older sisters jaw clench slightly before she looked away again. Starfire decided to press the issue. What did he say to you? Blackfire continued her intense staring contest with something to her right, wearing an ugly frown. The only thing that couldve fucked with my powers was the song, and he stopped by to tell me the name of it. Starfires own eyes narrowed at her sisters obvious attempt at deception and said Youre lying to me. with a slightly accusatory tone. Blackfires reaction to that statement caught Starfire off guard as her sister was suddenly shouting angrily at her SO FUCKING WHAT!? I lie to people all the time! I lie to YOU all the time except YOURE just stupid enough to keep Falling for it! Blackfires powers on the fritz meant there wasnt a normal Tamaranian eye-glow to go with her anger, but Starfire had no such problem as her own luminescence rose and she shouted back Im NOT stupid! I keep believing you because youre my sister! Blackfires volume lowered only slightly as her face warped into a sarcastic sneer and she said If you still believe my bullshit after all my years of lying to you, you are stupid! And furthermore youre a goddamn hypocrite! Starfires glow brightened and her eyes narrowed as she growled What do you mean by that? You believe in me cause Im your sister? Then why dont I feel the same way about You!?. Starfire eyes widened at the slight to her integrity and she raised her hand, first finger extended in warning to Blackfire as her own voice raised again I have NEVER lied to you Komand'r! Bullshit! Blackfire spat back derisively. Not Once! And I would never lie to you! Blackfire smirked What about if the truth would hurt my feelings? Not even then! Something suddenly nagged at Starfires mind, through the anger... Okay then! Lets test that! What?! Starfire realized that her sister had set some kind of verbal trap for her and her eyes glowed brighter at the manipulation, as well as Blackfires irritatingly smug grin. You wouldnt lie to me? Even if it hurt me? Blackfire spread her arms wide, looking triumphant. Ill bet that If I said I was sorry for all the things Ive done to you, you wouldnt believe me, OR youd tell me to go fuck myself. Starfire was caught up in her sisters dare, and shot back an almost immediate angry I would believe you! AND I would not tell you to mate with yourself! Blackfires scoffed and her lip curled in a sneer. Really? So when I tricked you with the Centauri Moon Diamond, Youd actually forgive me for that? Yes! Blackfires eyes narrowed When I tried to marry you off to Glrdsklechhh? Yes! Blackfires grin was gone, replaced by only an ugly scowl and a raised voice When I almost killed you so I could rule Tamaran!?! YES! Starfires insistence finally made Blackfire snap and she was shouting again YOURE FULL OF SHIT!!! WHAT ABOUT THE GALDARIANS HUH!?! Blackfires stance was aggressive, daring her sister to lie some more Youre going to tell me with a straight face that youd accept an apology for me selling you into SLAVERY after finding out about it TODAY!? I KNEW ABOUT THAT BEFORE TODAY!!! Starfires announcement echoed through the cavernous room. Blackfires aggressive posture deflated like a popped balloon and she stumbled slightly in surprise before catching herself and staring at her sibling. All traces of anger in Blackfires face and voice were replaced with quiet shock What? I figured it out Months ago! After the moon diamond! The day the Galdarians grabbed me, they were waiting for me! I only told you where I was going and youre the only one who couldve told them where I was! Starfires voice was still raised as it was her turn to now scowl angrily at her sibling. Why would you Do that to me!? What did I do to you to deserve that?! You hurt me so much, and I couldnt think of any reason for you selling me into slavery! I was so angry, I dont know if I ever would have forgiven you! Starfires voice lowered and eyes dimmed slightly as her tone became sad But then Blackfire blinked and stood up slightly, still staring at her red-headed sister with complete surprise, as Starfire continued, looking downwards with one of her arms crossed, still speaking but quietly in a sorrowful voice On Tamaran, I heard people talking about you and calling you a Troq and I didnt know why. I thought they were angry about the fake invasion, and then Galfore told me about the Citadel attack...and youre hair. Our people had been cruel to you since we were children, for things you had no control over. I tried to find you after I was told that, because I understood then...why you did all the things you had... Starfire looked at her older sister, whose shocked expression had become statue-like, and said Ive already forgiven you Komandr, for everything...and...I'm sorry." That broke Blackfire out of her stupor slightly, and her mouth dropped open. As she looked at Starfires sincere expression Blackfires cheeks reddened and her mouth twisted in an outraged whisper ...sorry? Youre Sorry? Starfire didnt have the chance to repeat herself as Blackfires new outburst would have drowned her out. YOURE SORRY?! EVERYBODY ON TAMARAN TREATED ME LIKE I WAS NOTHING! THEY TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN BORN! AND YOURE FUCKING SORRY!?!" Blackfires vision blurred slightly as she desperately shouted ALL THE TIMES IVE HURT YOU! I EVEN TRIED TO FUCKING KILL YOU! AND YOU'RE APOLOGIZING TO ME!?! WHY!? WHY ARE YOU SORRY!? ALL YOUVE EVER DONE IS LOOK UP TO ME, AND LOVE ME, AND ALL I DO IS THROW IT BACK IN YOUR FACE!!! Blackfires vision blurred and her voice choked slightly with emotion and her strained vocal cords You even brought me here to get my powers back, instead of arresting me, when you KNOW Im just going to attack you again! Why would you do that!? How could you-! Blackfire had leaned forward during her outburst, projecting her desperate,screaming rage into her sister, but her rage petered off and just became desperate shouting through tear-stained cheeks. As she finished her slightly hoarse shout, her knees weakened and she suddenly collapsed on to her hands and knees, giving a small cry as she caught herself. Komandr! Starfire shouted and rushed forward. She had weathered her sisters verbal assault, expecting it to become physical, but had been caught off-guard by her sisters fall. Starfire kneeled next to Blackfire and caught her faintly whispering how...how can you as she said Are you okay?! Blackfire trembled slightly at the touch of Starfires hand on her back, as she remained on her hands and knees and shook her head, letter her hair drape her face as she choked out No...No Kory.I dont know whats wrong with me...I cant stop Sister- Starfire registered dimly the use of her childhood pet-name and tried to return the favor to give Blackfire more comfort -Komie, thats why youre here, so you can find out whats wrong with you. Starfire felt her sisters shoulders shake even more and she softly said Thats not what I meant Kory... Starfire winced, thinking her misunderstanding had angered her sister again, when Blackfire spoke again and Starfire realized her sisters convulsions were caused by wracking sobs. I told those fucking lizards where to find you...I let them come and after all the times Ive saved you when you got into trouble exploringI just let them take you...I threw away my baby sister like she was garbage...Ive done so much to hurt you...why dont you hate me? Why dont you hate me like He does? He? Starfire was shocked. Blackfire must mean Tattoo, did that Demon-Lord say he hated her sister!? Starfires eyes flashed and she looked away, ready to fly off and smash the cruel monster who made her sister cry, but was stopped short. He hates his brothers...he said the world ending was the best thing that ever happened to him, cause they wouldnt be a part of his life anymore! Hes happy theyre dead, and they can never hurt him again! Starfire saw through a slight part in Blackfires hair. The older girl was staring at the ground, grimacing and letting her tears spatter on the library floor. He wasnt sold into slavery! He wasnt framed for theft! He wasnt almost murdered by them! And you... Blackfires eyes clenched shut and wailed Youre lying! You have to be Lying! How can you forgive me for all that!? You cant forgive me! You hate me! You have to! Theres no way-! Blackfire face was suddenly pressed into Starfires chest. The younger girl had grabbed her sister, lifting and pulling the older girl, and holding her close with one arm across her back and her other arm cradling the dark-haired criminals head. Blackfire crying had stopped momentarily at the warmth of her sister's body, and the feeling of Starfires cheek pressed against her head. Starfire spoke, and Blackfire could tell by her tone along with slight dampness spreading on her scalp that Koriandr was crying too Please dont say that sister. Im not lying. I have forgiven you, I promise. Starfire finished with a soft plaintive Dont cry, please. Starfires sad request went unfulfilled as Blackfires tears returned and she began to sob into the kind red-heads purple top, soaking the material. Blackfire reached up and returned her sisters hug, pulling herself further into Starfires warm embrace, even as she continued her disbelieving moans. How can you forgive me? Ive hurt you so badly, and Ive never even tried making up for it. I havent even Blackfires voice trailed off, and she held very still. Starfire lifted her head slightly to look at her sister with concern when she heard a whisper from Blackfire, heartbreakingly sad and afraid, like a child who was scared of waking the monsters under her bed. Im sorry Kory...Im so sorry for everything.please, forgive me... Starfire tightened her grip, her vision blurring as she felt Blackfires shoulders shake again. The dark-haired princesses sobs were much less violent and noisy, but still apparent as she brokenly begged and pleaded with her little sister, who unhesitatingly offered assurances and support. Im sorry Kory. I forgive you. Ill never hurt you again. I believe you. I promise. I know. I want to be a part of your life. Always, Komie. Please dont hate me. I love you. Blackfires emotional outpouring soon devolved into wordless, soft cries as she expunged a lifetimes worth of bitterness and regret. Starfire cradled her sister gently, as she cried softly for all the pain and sadness that Komandr had been secretly carrying for so many years. The two aliens stayed like that for awhile, with the older sibling brokenly weeping into her sisters chest, and the younger offering whispered words of comfort and devotion to soothe the sobbing girls emotional wounds. ---------------------------------- All credit and inspiration for this scene came from this. Don't know if anyone here goes to the WWOEC forum, but it was an artist there, named Dtiberius, who sort of showed me how Futanari could be really hot. (Futanari= girls with dicks) For me it's like Lesbians but with phisical sensations I can equate with. I got a warning on a story I wrote for an inadequate Disclaimer. A few days later the story I wrote was gone. I've since corrected the Disclaimer, and sent an email through the contact option about renewing my story, but it's been weeks since then. What else do I have to do?
