At the end of the day, if you want really "good" sex scenes, you have to remember that your characters aren't a set of genitals with a personality inconveniently attached. (Even if your characters don't realize it! Haha!) It's the other way around. A: Absolutely true. So in the final analysis, I think it comes down to how well you know the characters, and how true to their personality set you can be in creating a truly good sex scene, gender not withstanding.
