  1. So he's done TWO of your fics? Wow.

Yep - couldn't find the link before for some reason, but his other one of mine was here:

    http://www.toplessrobot.com/2008/10/fan_fi...nd_the_puss.php

...it was an interesting surprise to come back too after a couple weeks away! I have had my scrawlings violated twice by a droid with its baps out. :)

On the plus side, I got one of the 20 honorable mentions in the site's Robot Haiku contest!

  2. I'm pretty certain he can argue, amongst other things, 'Fair use'.

There are assloads of snark sites out there, some direct link, some don't. Livejournal is heaving with them! Two more with a deal of AFF stories quoted etc are www.whygodwhy.org and www.toplessrobot.com (the latter being a nerd blog with a weekly fanfiction review - they did mine eg here

http://www.toplessrobot.com/2008/04/fan_fi..._can_take_t.php and another story another time.

[Edit - I actually love the hell outa topless robot. They have great video and picture links. As far as the reviews go, they're actually considerably less harsh than the section on WGW, where the users have generally called for me to be strung up and mutilated. When I saw the first screencap of the new Walking Dead TV series on Topless Robot I was squeeing like a schoolgirl and looking for something to glomp.]

If he's/TR's users are acting like a troll on the site than that's something you're in a good position to deal with, but trying to get alll the off site quoters/snarkers/MSTers and so on moved could be problematic. When It happened to me here and on WGW and other places I tend to laugh :jaws:

[edit 2 - Another issue with going after offsite things like this, well, every time some legal representative has tried it with somethingawful.com or worse 4chan they've ended up with their letters/emails posted up and gained a whole lot more un-wanted attention from trolls, while finding that the mocking is protected by the whole fair use thing as well as various other apparant legal nicities.

I do sympathise with the authors who don't care to see their works ripped apart like that on topless robot or the many other places doing much the same, but honestly, as mean as its ever got I've never seen anything quite as bad as the mainstream critics gave the movie Gigli.

Didn't realise the topless robot folks had started flaming on this site though, back when they did my stories I only knew because I already followed the blog. I have a minor Star Wars character as an avater so I qualify as a nerd anyhow!]

  3. The Zeta Project was a spin off series from Batman Beyond. Didn't last long. Zee is the nickname for Zeta a robot/android, who appeared in an episode or two of Batman Beyond and Ro was another main character in TZP.

  4. Tim Drake/Robin and Nightwing were in The New Batman Adventures Cartoon (which folowed Batman TAS), which doesn't seem to have it's own cartoons section.

Have some emo cartoon Nightwing, from one of the series':

White Rabbits - The story is about the Batman villain, the Mad Hatter, reading Alice in Wonderland, doing some drugs to the music of Jefferson Airplane and having homicidal urges. It's a crossover insofar as the character of the Mad Hatter himself was stolen by DC and turned into a crazy mind controlling child molestor when they got all grim, but his stories have featured Alice iconography that borders on theft.

Barbara Gordon was Batgirl in a bunch of cartoons. I dunno about online but I bet cartoon network has repeats you could see. Actually, that's Babs in the nightwing above. Dick really wanted a mullet in those days...

There have been Batman cartoons since at least the 1970s. I honestly can't see where you're getting at the ones under cartoon needing to be under comic, since there isn't enough detail to say whether the author was diddling herself to a comic or a cartoon. Superhero comics usual skewing to a male buying audience would suggest cartoons and movies are generally a more likely source tho'

I uh, I get that there aren't many people to moderate and administrate the AFF archive, but I wonder if your time might be spent more productively on subjects you're familiar with, rather than checking every story, running some web search and hoping to get it right. Sort of, if you actually know the topic well then it's a great contribution to say that something's in the wrong place, but if you don't and an admin goes and moves it and then moves it back when the author points out some evidence, then it's yours, theirs and the authors time wasted...

Wow, I sound like a dick.

  7. Try a simple one - start like a process map - restrict each section to one short paragraph, and have only two choices on each paragraph, with lots of "ending" or "go back to start" to restrict further progress on branches. Get skeleton plots worked out on this, then go back and write more detail etc into the paragraphs if you want.

I think there are some pretty detailed guides already on the internet - try google to see if you can get more detailed tips. I tried one about three years ago but didn't really get anywhere.

  8. It really depends what you write - to take an example from looking at my hits, a story about a major Harry Potter character fucking a dog is inexplicably popular, while other topics are somewhat less so.

  9. I am pretty sure Pjurado did some with both of 'em in at the same time, but I don't think he has stories on here so try his subpage on www.greyarchive.org - password is on the forum there (free!)

For just Lara, Deathstalker has three good ones with strong peril (The story Tomb Raider - Breaking & Entering has no snuff, the other two do)

See his page here - the Tomb Raider stories are clearly marked! -

EDIT - I feel kinda silly now! Just realised I already recommended DS in that other thread, so you'd maybe have already seen his stories! Well, maybe the PJ stuff'll be what you want.

  10. Is there any smut out there featuring Thursday Next from Jaspar Fforde's series of books, perhaps featuring many puns, obscure literary jokes and made up words?

If anybody knows if there is any can you point me that way? ;)

  11. I personally think you are better adding reviews directly to the stories, with some authors using forum threads to reply to reviews.

Thank you kindly for your reviews - not surprised my stories weren't entirely your cup of tea, that's why I only mentioned you might like mine after recommending the others :(
