  1. When I was around 16 I've been having a recurring nightmare for a few nights that scared the heck out of me, so one day I wrote down everything I remembered about it as to "trap" it on virtual paper. Reading this topic made me think about that one. And, going a little OT, now I wonder if I should post it, 'cause it has very disturbing content...and also, can you post stories you wrote when you were younger? 'cause I think I have read some rule against that, but I am not very sure.

I would like to read it if you ever post it....

  2. Has anyone wrote a story based on a dream they had? I have done this and it seems to be a good way to start a good story. Right after I awaken I have a notepad and a pen ready before that dream fades away and I will forget about it. Just wondering if they are any dream writers here?

  3. Usually, the character steals the spotlight from the regulars, does everything and does it better than the canon characters.

A woman that programs Spock's computers better than Spock can.

A teen that finds clues Sherlock missed.

A teenage mutant ninja tortoise that fights all four of the TMNT's to a standstill.

Everyone loves her, everyone wishes they were Mary, or could be closer to Mary, everyone appreciates her insight and sacrifice and misses her when she's gone.

I don't care that someone has daydreams where they have Jedi Powers in the Old West and end up saving SG-1 from yet another time travel episode by hijacking the Jupiter two... It's just not what i would want to read a Mission: Impossible fanfic for...

Ultimately, well-written is well-written. Characterization is as characterization does. But too obvious self-insertions just grate.

Is that why it's so bad?

  4. I don't understand what is bad about a mary sue fic? I guess I don't understand at all because I never write fanfiction. I know the term by definition but why are they so bad to read or how come fans don't like them?

  5. If I didn't have a ton on my plate right now, I would be interested in helping you write that story out, but I cannot because I have about fifty stories that I am trying to work on right now and can barely finish one story before the muse jumps in and screams here is a new plot for you, write it, write it damn you! and I end up with another three stories to write.

But please let me know when the story is done as I would love to read it.

It's totally ok, I know many authors here have their keyboards busy <_< I think I found my co-writer although it would be nice to have you as one because you are a good writer >_>

  6. Topic title: I have a need for a co-writer.

Topic description: For original vampire stories

I am in need of a co-writer who would be interested in helping me co-write unfinished work that I would like to finish. I have so many ideas and too many WIPS that need some finishing touches on them. If you like vampires and horror stories then you would be perfect to help me co-write with my unfinished works. Thanks!

  7. I love working with a co-writer, because if you start losing the thread of how the story or stories are going, your partner usually pulls you back in.

    Beth

Well I better start looking for one now lol happy.gif I wouldnt mind having somebody else co-write with me, it's just that sometimes it's hard to find that person with the same sound mind and creativity. But I am guessing it's not too hard if you the two writer's can think on the same level and get the story done and not let it wait too long.

  8. Two heads are better than one lol That is if the other head has an interest in writing and knows alot about the paranormal. I ask my friend for suggestions but they are really short and not too detailed. She's not a very good speaker but she has helped me vent. She is always calling me up saying "hey when you updating? I wanna chapter XX and whatever else you have new." Keeps me inspired a little. So has the old reviews. I am slowly getting through it too. I am still going back through my mind what I had done that day. The first thing I remember it was night time. That's the typical time I write my stories.

  9. I don't know who has gone through this before. I made several attempts to get over writer's block it worked but what about an author losing their touch, their passion for writing. I was going back through some of my stories and I read the reviews I like reading those when I feel down about writing they keep me uplifted. Writing is my thing I have done this since I was a child, I would always make up these fairy tales add pics and color things from my imagination. I loved language arts/english and speech class. That's because of my writing everyone loved it but it's fading.

I got over writer's block but what about the mind that creates worlds, places, characters, emotions of unhappy and happy feelings from the words on the page. My fire has totally died, I go back through my mind wondering what was I doing that day I wrote a great story, or what was I thinking or listening to at the time? I got to read my stories and I say to myself "Did I actually write this, I can't believe it I am saying this to myself!" My time, music, atmosphere, concentration, and level of stress depend on what goes on a page. I am not sure anymore. Kinda weird I know maybe I need to be in a better mood not sure. Sometimes I want to delete my work and quit. Or maybe I need to be morbid again, feeling morbid is great if you want a good dark story. Yes it's ironic who wants to feel morbid as a good feeling to accomplish something.

Not too sure sorry this is long just needed to vent to rant on if anyone wants to listen or in this case read it. Have a bunch of good stuff just hasn't made it to a word document or just sits in the taskbar 24/7 without being saved. *sigh* This fire needs to be rekindled.

  11. Yeah I know the feeling of writing and getting hits and 1 review and none at all. Hey I am a grateful person because I notice I get high ratings many hits and no new reviews. The only reviews I have been getting are from my friends who I personally tell "hey I have a new story." They read it and review it but it's like well I kinda knew you were going to do that. I like unexpected reviews I really don't like to tell my friends to go read them, kinda feels forceful. At least I know somebody rated my story I guess that plays a huge part in it too.

I think I am going through a drought of writing, it's very dry and I am doing a re-write which I think just totally fucked up my story. But it's all good I'll keep writing.

  12. Just don't think of deleting a story so quickly. You will be sorry later. It's a simple fact.

A story in the 1 POV is always a bit difficult to write, but if you manage to get it right, it can be awesome. Wish you goo luck with your writing!

Thanks! happy.gif well so far I added another chapter. I don't think I want to delete or move anything else. It does get more complicated.

Think I need a break before my brain explodes. freak.gif
