  1. Executive dysfunction is an absolute shit-show when you are aware of it and unable to work around it, and don’t get enough support from the one person in the household without it. You could be expecting the pope to randomly drop by tomorrow for tea, and you’ll focus on a specific shelf that’s been bugging you forever (just not enough to push you to reorganize it) and completely forget that your husband gutted a deer on the kitchen table and left it for you to clean up.

No, the pope isn’t visiting—think closer to Hades—and Cold didn’t leave a literal deer carcass on the table. (If he hunted, we might have meat more often.) The deer carcass is metaphorical. His mother isn’t, unfortunately. At least “that one shelf” looks bangin’ because I’m bangin’ my head on the wall trying to actually handle the things that matter.

      Oh, lordie…

If it helps, I am the lone neurotypical in my household and I still struggle with fixating on the one thing that really doesn’t need my undivided attention, while the rest of the place goes to wrack and ruin around me.

But I will admit, my collection of dragons looks amazing.

I get that.  Usually, in my house, the one who ends up breaking free of it temporarily is me.  I think that’s due to temper.  I get pissed off at myself enough, that I make things happen that should have been happening long ago.
