So uh, manager got axed but she decided to deadman’s switch and nuke alot of other...enjoyers of group extracurricular activities by sending evidence to HQ directly….
And I knew none of this and walked straight into the aftermath of the hidenburg.
There’s burning bridges… And then there’s nuking the thing.
So the fallout has yet to be determined but on the other hand kinda have to respect going out on your own terms via nuclear fission.

I’ve also just realized that I might have to resurrect a dead character almost six chapters into a story.
Yeah, this “foolproof” plan resulted in a dead character, if he’d had some contingencies covered, it might’ve been a good plan. (However, the dead character was already penned in, this rewrite simply provided a better justification over “random”.)

This one’s bright, though inexperienced, got overconfident. He’s also a first year, so bit understandable.

Yep… fun to write too. Though bit of sympathy to the one uttering it, it’ll backfire in a way he wasn’t expecting (and he’s a sweet character to write), so a tad painful to inflict. What’s an author to do but keep on writing?

$43 is reasonable … if those were 10 gallon bottles. But yeah, that’s serious money. (Don’t look at my collection of diet coke two-liter bottles….)

People don’t really grow up they just get better at hiding it. Dear lord, having to explain to a construction worker having a temper tantrum that the only reason he can’t login into an app is because of a user error. When he’s at least 6’5 and over eighty pounds heavier is not a good time.

Y’all, I couldn’t make this shit up if I tried. I’m editing a new chapter of A New Lease on Life <500 words at a time with ProWritingAid, and the Readability checker gave me such a double take I heard my neck crack. I posted a screenshot on Tumblr because pics or it didn’t happen.
An (admittedly wordy) paragraph got a hard to read flag. Everything is spelled correctly, but it has several big words regarding language and its various parts and traits. You know. Words like consonants, syllables, dialects, and pronunciation. Hard, however, seems excessive.
Right above this paragraph is one marked easy to read. The entire thing is written in (intentionally) misspelled Scots and Scots-Gaelic that gave the spelling and grammar checker a stroke…and it’s easy to read…

Unfortunately, the cat’s never going to be old enough for a beer. He’s in end stage kidney failure, and I get to call up the vet later today 😢

It’s the little things that one starts to really miss. Going into the bedroom, still expecting him to be on the bed or in the laundry. Or, wanting to go to the back door to see if he’s on the deck waiting to be let inside (I never installed a cat door). Or, even him knocking my chair’s lever so it’s locked back into it upright position.
