Well…  Bit of a milestone…  At least for me…  The unbetaed (...raw?  Essential TCR?  Hmmm...) experiment/challenge to see how far I’ve come along in the years CR’s been betaing has reached eight chapters, which is now tied with Blood and Honour for most up here…  To believe that Come Hell or High Water was just something for the writer’s block to break apart…
It’s kind of hard to imagine that just under a year ago, I never would have thought to show any of my work to anyone but CR and now, I have two that are up for a decent chapter length (with, in BaH’s case, many more chapters in the wings, waiting for examination…)  Come Hell or High Water is also, strangely enough, tied with BaH for the amount of reviews (albeit in a shorter time frame…  Not sure if I’ve entered the Twilight Zone there, maybe...)
I’m glad for all the support and my fans :).  Maybe one day soon I can get on to the more vital prospect (and infinitely more terrifying thought) of finding someone to publish…  Until then, I’ll let that thought sink in…  While I roll back and forth in the corner…  In a fetal position…

Another Chapter for Beyond the Milky Way! I meant to tell people that this isn’t your average scifi. So, don’t expect any Star Wars/Star Trek stuff in this  

I just got finished with the first edit on Loving Sarajevo. It consumed my life for the past two weeks so I was happy to finish it and send it off last night. Like, so happy I may have cried a little. I thought I’d get to write today. I was so excited only to wake up and have the editor for Backdoor Politics message me to tell me to expect the first edits on that story soon. My life is a never ending loop of editing hell.

On the bright side, my computer has finally decided to update to the latest version of Windows 10, after I manually updated Windows Update.

So, my boy goes back to the vet yet again for a glucose curve on Monday.  Hopefully, the dosage worked out on Friday is the one that’ll work.  It has certainly made a marked difference in his overall behavior!  He’s doing things he hasn’t felt like doing for the last month!

My The Loud House fanfic “Whoops” surpassed 30,000 hits yesterday, which is more than double the number for any other fanfic I’ve ever written (and a lot of those have been posted for years). Not sure why this one is so popular, but I ain’t complainin’.

No, I haven’t written anything, but I miss being able to post status updates, which technically should count.
Warning: personal politics
So… this week. The only thing sadder than Trump still being President of the USA, is Tony Blair, war criminal, telling a group of people with cameras pointed at him that if only the British people rise up against Brexit, the government will have to listen to them.
That’s a little optimistic of him. Why, I seem to remember… it must be nearly fifteen years back, when a million people “rose up” to say: “Please don’t kill innocent Iraqi children, Mr. Blair!” And at the exact same time as we gathered in Hyde Park, Tony Blair was explaining to parliament why he would be completely ignoring us.
He also talked a bit about ‘direction of travel’ with regard to Brexit. Direction of travel, aided in part by him, is why we are in this mess. In some ways, direction of travel, aided in part by democratic presidencies, is why we are all in this mess. Direction of travel can be directly illustrated by the ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor, that these generations (from mine onwards) are less well off than their parents, the rise in street homelessness, the breakdown in social care, charging for doctors’ appointments, the americans who had their homes repossessed and could not possibly be bailed out for a few thousand (or even a few hundred), while the bankers who caused the misery got billions… and billions. I could go on… and on.
Back to Blair, it’s almost as if he paid someone to find as many ironies as possible for him to add into his speech, though we shouldn’t expect anything less from a man who was somehow – inexplicably – made middle east peace envoy despite causing unimaginable terror and suffering there. This is on par with making Trump a leader on women’s issues, or electing him a spokesperson for an alliance against police violence towards minorities.
Yes, I do believe Trump and Brexit are part of the same phenomenon. I’ve got to. I’m no fan of Brexit, I voted remain, but as I listen to Blair and I watch the insincere wringing of his hands, I almost hope it happens. Just to spite him. Just because it will force people to either wake up or drift further into the nightmare we’re all heading towards. I’m in the bottom third (and probably in the bottom third of that). I’ve got nothing to lose except everything, and if things stay the way they are – if the direction of travel continues – I’ll lose everything anyway.    Right there. That’s exactly the sentiment that got Trump elected. It’s the sentiment that will see us leave the EU. I hope it’s not the sentiment that puts us (as I predicted a few months ago) on the wrong side of the next war in Europe.
People of Britain and the US, please, do wake up. You can be anti-establishment without being anti-humanity. It’s not hard at all. It’s as easy as putting yourself in someone else’s place and deciding you’ll stand with them. We’ve evolved for this.
Quite apart from all that, I don’t think the establishment mind Trump or Brexit at all, for all that people wish it. It kind of leads me to think they’re happy to use those things, as if the people have chosen their own diversion in a brand new game of misdirection, which leads to just one question…
What the hell are they trying to make off with this time?

So…  Warning rant ahead…
Perhaps I am quite close to the written material I have up.  Perhaps I’m just stubborn…  Pigheaded…  Wouldn’t be the worst thing I’ve been called…  And I’m willing to take some fair concrit when it comes to the stories, even the ones I am most proud of…  The latest review that I received for Blood and Honour was neither concrit nor supportive, in my belief.
I read the entire chapter before I review, before I form an opinion.  Being told, off the bat, that you did not read the entire chapter, thus forming your opinion from half...a quarter, I feel renders anything said not necessarily invalid, but also pointless in ‘constructive’ criticism – and I use ‘constructive loosely here (especially when a comment made is that ‘it would be more ‘readable”).  I’m not sure how four people can be confusing, nor can I understand how, and I will be exact here, one can be confused with four given names, three nicknames associated with those given names (Ie. Max – Maximilian, Fritz – Friedrich, Matti – Matilde), and two surnames.  As for feelings and emotional responses; I’m sorry that it doesn’t beat you over the bloody head with each and every sentence referring to how ‘utterly awesome’ the other one is while otherwise leaving a vacant slot where the MC is.  This one is not supposed to start happy, is not supposed to be cheerful and happy, this is supposed to be a dark start, a bleak future cast. 
Perhaps because of my closeness and pride for Blood and Honour, maybe it’s not as bad as I think, but to me, this review was not constructive, this felt like full on criticism and, at some points, quite mean spirited.
End of rant.
Sorry…  Just need to bitch and complain, but didn’t want to clutter the forums with things.
