Had a nightmare that Rings of Power went on for 10 seasons.

Archive repairs & recode are sitting at around 50% done.  Archives are next followed by the story manager.

I watched Episode 5 of the Rings of Power.  
There is so much wrong in this episode I don’t even know where to start!
 Mithril is not a melted Silmaril.  The Silmarilli cannot be destroyed.   Galadriel is wearing the sigil for the House of Feanor.  She is not of that house.  She is of the House of Finarfin. Tar-Miriel never went to Middle Earth.  In fact, when Ar-Pharazon goes to Middle Earth, by this time, he has forced Tar-Miriel into marriage and usurped the throne of Numenor.  She is supposed to be Queen Regnant, not Queen Regent. I could go on further, but this episode has me even more furious at how they have destroyed the legendarium.

My smartass husband almost doomed us all. He’s eating animal crackers and found a cookie that appeared to be two different critters stuck together. What’s he suggest? ”Hey. Think we can fix this chimera with alchemy?” 

No, Cold. HAYELL no. We are not breaking the alchemical taboo in twenty-twenty-anything, this is not the decade to risk it! There are two whole anime series about just why we don’t mess around with that! 
 

There is not enough squee in the world for that moment when one randomly finds a copy of Diana Wynne Jones’s Howl’s Moving Castle on the Free Books table at the University library…. 

AAAAAAND we have eruption number two, in as many years… fun fun fun  At least it’s stopped shaking now, I guess.

Watching the Expanse.  Imagine having the actor credit of “puking diplomat” on your resume?

Ever have a story idea so stupid that you had to write it, just to see if you could pull it off?
I have had such an idea. It’s a furry story about four boys from a racoon-like race whose island home is under occupation by tiger-like invaders. The boys manage to find an ancient artifact that they hope will give them superpowers to drive the invaders away.
Instead, the artifact turns them into a boy band. 
God help me, the story going to be called “Band Together.”

I’m not sure what CAUSED the outage, but it’s now fixed.  It looks like our ISP had to reboot the server after I opened a ticket

What I say: "Hekapoo" (the name of a character from Star Vs. the Forces of Evil).
What my phone hears: "Heckapoo," "pecapoo," "Hackaboo," "Packaboo," or "Hecka poop," depending on its mood.

Apparently the code is not generating the reset link as it’s intended to.  So Manta is looking at that code snippet to see why, and to fix it.

We are working on the password reset thing.  Now, as to the weirdness with the news, that was a corrupt table entry.  Both Manta and I were thrown by the exclamation point that displayed, as we thought it indicated code issues.  it was actually in the database, and is now fixed.

Working on the next few weeks of schedules and hoping like hell I can manage an actual sane and normal schedule for me instead of 2 weeks on, 1 day off shit I’ve been doing.

I’ve got another zinger from hubs to share! A few minutes ago, I was chatting with Cold about my plants in the window and I said, “I mean, those two need repotting already. They must really like this southern exposure!” This guy. This absolute smartass. He looked at me with a completely innocent face and said, “yeah, but I don’t know how they can stand the accent.”  …y’all. Cold has a southern accent.
Yes, I choked on my spit. That mouth of his makes me so stinking proud sometimes. 

My phone now has a bilingual mode, which means that it will do predictive typing in Spanish as well as English. So I was doing a Duolingo Spanish lesson and typing “Te gusta el…?” (“Do you like…?”), and the next word it suggests is “sexo.”
Apparently, my phone thinks I’m a perv in any language. It’s right, but that’s not the point.

So, work is still hell, still working entirely too much.  finally may have the email sorted out since I upgrade to Win 11
