    Well, the admins of AFF are so skilled they scared the crap out of me. The other day I got an update that I would need to verify my email or something to that effect, since the site was at long last coming out of Read Only mode. ...only problem was, I received this email at an address I didn’t think you all knew.

    I did send you an email directly. Check your Spam or Junk folders… unless it got caught up in Yahoo’s snit about getting too many emails from AFF. Apparently, Yahoo thinks we’re spamming. I sent you the email in DM, with the links. Take that, Yahoo!

    For the password reset, are you ensuring there are at least TWELVE characters in the password? When I first did it, I used 9, and then remembered I needed to use 12. Once I did that, it worked just fine. I had to have the validation/password reset resent to me like many of you, as I was one of the approximately 1% of users to where it didn’t work right.

    I didn’t remember mine either, but I went on a hunch after noticing the same sequence of numbers in all emails. Your profile ID (not the name, but the number) is what you see in the link between “reset.php?x=“ and “&y” Go to some random profile and replace their ID with yours and voila, there’s your profile

    Unless you see the word “password” at the very end of the activation link, you don’t need to edit the link. The very first emails sent out had a small error in the script which carried over one word into the activation link, and backspacing it out allowed the link to function properly.

    Ah, we’re not ready for new posts yet, I’m sorry! The archive needs to stay in read-only mode while we sort out the last few issues behind the scenes. I don’t have a date yet for being able to post new work, but believe me, I’ll be shouting it while dancing with joy as soon as I do know! You’ve all been so amazingly patient with us, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!

    Awesome! Hopefully, our coder figured out the problem with activating some of the accounts, and we’ll be able to get everyone activated and logged in. (Which means back to work for me sending out links!)

    The archive is still in read only mode so you can’t post new chapters or stories. At the moment we are working on verifying user accounts as a first step towards reopening the site, so bear with us a little longer. Willow Darkling, forum moderator

    As I said, I’m trying to find out what’s happening. When I look at your account, at least the information that I can see, there is a key piece that isn’t appearing, which indicates a successful validation. So, I can see the account isn’t not validated. What I can’t see is the why of it.

    I just received word that the site should hopefully be back up and accepting new posts again soon. I want to give a big thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to get the site back online, and a huge thank you to all of my fans who have been so understanding and patient. I hope that my work will have made the wait worth it

    Thanks. Funny enough the top piece about the Romans in Their Decadence might work. I had the thought that there’d be a woman at the centre of the painting. That would work visually with what I wanted to achieve in the story.
