I’m wondering if there’s a place for a general parody category or within a particular category.

What I mean is, I’ve been thinking about an idea where I use a kind of porn premise for a fandom.

Maybe the closest I can think of is a fanfic elsewhere that had an OC using a TV to mind control characters in a specific fandom. They weren’t limited to a particular fandom. They just used the same premise across multiple fandoms.

Or would a story like that just be within the particular fandoms?

Updating stories without sending them to the top of their category

Is there a way to update a story without sending it to the top of its category? I sometimes go in and correct errors that I find after a story is posted, but the new system treats these stories as though I’d added a chapter or something and sends them to the top. I don’t want to be unfair to the people who have posted new stories or chapters, so I’m wondering whether there’s a way to prevent this.

I came to this site originally to read stories. I now have an interest in posting my stories, but there are two major obstacles. First, I’m as near as makes no difference to computer illiterate. I’ve read all the FAQs I could find on how to post stories, and they just left me confused.

Second, upon going over the offline archive of stories I’ve written, I see that a bare majority involve underaged characters. Apparently, I really like writing sex stories about fifteen year olds. This got me to thinking that there was no point in starting an account here if a large proportion of my stories would fail to meet the community standards.

I see in the story codes there’s a ‘lolicon’ entry, but that’s for anime only; there seems to be no ‘young’ or ‘underage’ code, which strongly implies that my stories wouldn’t be welcome here… yet I can find no listing of prohibited content.

A little help, please?

I am not sure I agree with the homepage statement that a person can't read fanfiction that is not original out loud. By writing the very fanfic using another copyrighted authors characters and basic plots you are copyright infringing yourself.

there is some info here with a copyright lawyer that its not cut and dry that you can't read an authors book outloud and the parameters which they may be allowed to

I am unable to Update my Account? (I tried following the instructions here http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/topic/29595-existing-users-logging-in-for-the-1st-time-in-the-new-system/ )

I went here http://members.adult-fanfiction.org/login.php , cleared my cache & cookies, started a new private window just to be sure, reset my password, then proceeded to update my account details.

After filling out:

First Name (Alphabetic characters and - only.)
Last Name (Alphabetic characters and - only.)
Date of Birth (yyyy-mm-dd)
Pen Name (Alphabetic characters and - or _ only.)

I hit the Update button, it loads the page again and nothing happens.

I’ve tried sending an email to technicalsupport@adult-fanfiction.org but I have not got any reply. Can someone help me reach the support staff?

Hi. My user name is GogetaInu and I've noticed that when I'm logged in and looking at my profile in my account, it will show that my profile Bio has been updated but when I view my profile Bio as how someone not logged into my account, would see it, it hasn't been updated. I wanted to know why my profile isn't updating and if there's anyway my profile can be fixed to where others looking at my profile Bio who aren't logged into my account, can see the updated version of it, since the information on it is very outdated, at this point. Thanks.

I haven’t been here in a long time as I have not written fanfiction in a number of years. I tend to just come back if someone messages me with review or a typo spot. I came back this week to update my email address, as my current one (soon to be old one) has turned into spam central, but I can’t login.

When I put in my details and press the login button it just shuts down the sidebar and I am not logged in.

I tried the password reset with the email address that is attached to my account, but it is saying the password reset is no longer valid when I try to use the link.

My new account on the forum (since I can’t even find my login details for my old one) has my new email address, so that is sorted, but I would like to be able to log into my profile on the site, update my email address and see what else I may have missed since I was last here, since I see from the news on the main page that at least one email has gone astray, probably in the spam folder, and unfortunately, long since deleted.

Can anyone help please?
